Have fun! I'm sure it will go well
I've started the past 5 years of my education with new things, so I can't really relate to knowing everyone well. Just talk about how hard it was to find the classroom or something, or wonder about how the lesson is going to be. Everyone feels the same, so it's a good topic.

Thanks guys. Today went well .

It was weirdly emotional to hand in my locker key (music majors can sign up for a locker, and I've had one for about a year and a half now). I didn't want to. It's not because I was attached to the locker, it just seemed really strangely symbolic. O_o Like handing in my key to the 'family' building or something.

Other than that, it was a little strange to be in my classes that are not core curriculum and not recognize anyone. I chit-chatted with a couple of people, and it's always nice to make new acquaintances, but it was definitely strange to not have -any- classes where I knew someone.

Ironically it made me completely appreciate the opera rehearsal, because it felt like "home" to be doing something musical. I think I'm going to actually be pretty dang grateful for the daily rehearsals now, which I was dreading.

I love the feel of cool silk on my skin, and I really miss it, since my dry cleaners have killed all my silk shirts!

Will they compensate you for it at least? You can buy new ones with that?

Tessar, that's good to hear Just think of it this way: knowing fewer people means more opportunities to get to know new people.

I got them at second hand stores for a couple of dollars, so it wouldn't really be fair to ask them. It's just a matter of the
search to find a decent replacement second-hand. I certainly couldn't afford them new!

So, true story.... When I don't cut my hair for 2+ months I look "scruffy". When I don't cut my hair for 2+ months, and then don't shave for two weeks, I look "debonair and suave."

Girls are weird. No offense meant to the lovely ladies.

But seriously. Yall be weird.

I think this was a look originally popularised by Don Johnson in Miami Vice.
IIRC there were electric shavers for sale that could give you that three-day stubble look.

Weeellllllll, I don't know if it matters how much you paid for them; after all, what if you didn't pay anything? (IOW, they were gifts). If the dry cleaners were at fault, I think that they should replace the shirts.

It's like when my daughter borrowed my nephew's old, cracked iTouch when we went to Hawaii - he offered last-minute to let her borrow it for the plane trips, and I forgot about it (and thus forgot to keep track of it) and it got lost on one of the planes. Although it was old and cracked, still, it was our responsibility, so I bought him a new one.

Heh, like a few years back you could buy "just-out-of-bed"-hairwax, to make it look like you just got out of bed. Silly

Very silly. I know a cheap way to do it. Don't do anything to your hair after you get out of bed. Why pay for gel when you can do it for free

Its like the people that buy jeans that look like someone spilled bleach on them for like 300 bucks. I made my own at work with a pair of 20 dollar jeans from walmart lol

Yes, it's strange how you're supposed to pay for having things already worn out.
Much cheaper to wait till it happens naturally - or to add those touches oneself
