Butterbeer - I was just going to have Rian leave the hall for a stroll in the night air to cool off her blushing cheeks when I remembered she hadn't had her dance with Bumble yet! If you would like to do this (I would - sounds fun!) then go ahead and write it - I left my post with her getting bumped from behind, presumably by the good prof ...

Why couldn't we have a nice magic fight? I am still disappointed... TD, Udu, what do you feel? Lotesse, At least change Lilly' words "What are you talking about, NO one's killing me or MY man," to "MY men" That will be more like Lilly. |

O.K., Crazy Squirrel,
1. Viv had come into the house, and noticed the maid ON THE SOFA in the living room, before she came upstairs, having heard all the commotion. 2. When she walked in the door of the room, she saw what she saw. 5 minutes or so could have lapsed between where the swords were pointing at the end of Udu's posts, and where she walked into the fray. 3. Thw WHOLE POINT is that normally, no one would have found the situation amusing, yet that the sight of them all in a pile trying to kill one another like angry schoolchildren, WAS amusing, and that all five of them caught on to the silliness of the situation, once Viv started laughing, and it was NOT silly laughter, they are NOT being "silly," they just all snapped one way rather than the other way, which would have done us ALL in. How are the Nine going to have any strength at all if they have no common bond, if they cannot work together? Viv, if she hadn't started laughing, would have gone apes*it. She would have gone into one of her deadly rages, which - remember - is on a par with Ilmenzor himself in the deadly aspect. Where would that have gotten her? Where will any of them be, if that body is discovered while they fuss and fight over who aggravated whom with this spell or that? Out of Tharbad, at the very least. At the most, out of form AND out of Tharbad, when Ilmenzor gets his hands on them ALL. The laughter is not Silly, it is genuine and a very rare moment - literally a moment, which may never come again. They can resume their squabbles after taking care of the pressing immediate problem of Merwen, can they not? Which brings me to: 4. Au Contraire, the BIG PROBLEM is INDEED the woman downstairs, NOT the quarrel with Khamul. The quarrel with Khamul will continue, in a thousand different incarnations, for the next three thousand years, no? In fact, it can re-erupt right AFTER they clean up the Nazgul mess that Buz made by Black Breathing that maid. And Grey Wolf, did I sound harsh in that last post? I was just ribbing you; of course I know you'd not let the animals hurt Lomi. I wish the internet could allow us to convey our facial expressions and stuff, so things wouldn't so easily go misinterpreted.

Well if you think that the woman on the sofa is the BIG problem, why won't you take her to Grey Wolves yourself on your new horse?
As for Khamul, I think we shall leave it for TD to decide. |

I've made a few alterations to my post. If you guys want me to just erase the whole thing, tell me.
BTW CS, why on earth should Viv have to carry out the dying woman on her own? This is a problem that affects ALL the Nine, and also it is neither Viv's right nor her responsibility to clean up after the others, when she still doesn't even know why the maid's there (just that obviously she's been black-breathed) or who did it to her, or what someone else may have planned for her. Were you being sarcastic, when you made that "new horse" comment/suggestion to me? Just asking, because sometimes online it's impossible to tell.

heh Rian, don't feel up to writing just now ...
but you write it if you like .. maybe have jas do the bumping ...a) may help serenoli get to know another character b) jas could be wanting a talk with mathaliel's new friend (for amorous reasons) but mainly c) Bumble doesn't move so fast ... Interesting rpg /discussion thread parrallels with the nazgul! well, i liked it lotesse, the idea of a truly mirthful laugh cutting through ... loved the wasps description! think it needs a bit of work though... seems a tad abrupt still ... maybe a slowing down between the protagonists and exhchange of looks ala the spaghetti westerns ... then a slow building rolling wave of mirth? anyway, up to you. I also agree CS that whichever way you look at it as both udu and Khamul (TD) have already posted with their characters: it is very careless and very dangerous to leave a body lying around in a house of servants .... i appreciate Lilly is still very very drunk and Buz has not had a momment to do anything yet , but Viv would be right to say effectively: you fools can fight later if you insist, but this needs dealing with NOW! and laugh at then=m foolishily fighting like a wasps nest of ire! The Morgul lord will certainly condemn the lot of you if you do not do the important thing first, and ensure the nazgul's prescence in Tharbad is not discovered ... and a near dead servant suffering the Black breath is one total give away! ...this should also be Khamul's and udu's and all of you (barring lilly who is drunk and possibly unaware exactly what Buz has done?) first concern ... thus i think lotesse has some fair points there. sure you guys need to refine a bit how you want to play it ... but it is getting interesting the Nazgul power-playing among themselves ... in this regard i see no problem either: the nazgul can be both a team and fellowship AND cruel and EVIL and self-serving individuals too. example in point: the one ring! Each would take it, or be VERY tempted if they could acquire it! ..........blah ... can't concentrate .... anyway that'll do ... |

Re: Nazgul problems.
I suggest we say no more on the characterization, before TD appears and tells what he thinks. He is Khamul, after all. I also believe Khamul acts strangely, but perhaps TD will find an explanation for it. If not, I think it is his right to ask Lotesse to edit. As for technical matters Quote:

Gor: maybe Aiwendis should read the seminal Elmir-phudd's best seller
'how to get your prey! eh-eh-eh!' (available at all discerning bookstores now!) heh, i like how hard it is Gor (no pun intended ) to get a dance with Val ... the MM's must be going mad too ... what next? The belly-dancer? |

About figuring out where things are on the campus... should we just randomly pick out a building for whereever it is we need our characters to go as we write? Or do we have someone designated to be in charge of the map and of clarifying these matters?
Either way I've got a character floundering around out in the night because I have no clue where her residence or her forge are in relation to the main hall. Help!

Ciao, Nazguls, I have changed quite a few little things now in the post I've rename The Five Nazgul; please read it as soon as you all can & let me know what you think - ESPECIALLY Crazy Squirrel and TD and Udu. I am DYING to hear what each of you feels about the changes; it means A LOT, it means everything to me what you think and what you want here since I have written action & dialogue for your people and you guys (plus Shah) are the ones I interact with the most here. PLEASE know I'm doing my best to keep everyone artfully within character; I'd never harm any of my beloved fellow Nazgul by having them do or say stuff out of line 4 them. Good thing I've had a little time this afternoon to use my boyfriend's computer at work 4 this.
Valandil, Gordis & Rian, esp. Val, those last posts were great! So much detail, good stuff! Grey Wolf - I'll have Viv tell Lomi to fetch the Wolves after the Five decide what we're gonna do with Merwen, because we might not need the wolves if we can sucessfully brainwash and revive her. If not, then DEFinitely we'll need those wolves to come 'round & have a snack on us!

Right, since no one seemed inclined to answer my question, I picked out a good looking building and started describing. Hope that's all right.

Ciao, Willow! I didn't mean 2 seem like I was ignoring U, I just didn't know what to advise. If it were me, I guess I'd describe the buildings I needed, like you just did there in the last post, and then perhaps our resident map designers can flesh it out for us all with a map to go along with your descriptions. I think the map people are Gordis and Udu - is this right, you guys? Anyway. I like the visual of Mahtaliel at the forge. Reminds me of that quick cut in LotR movie, when the elves where at the forge reforging Narsil, remember? I don't know why, just came to mind like that. I have no idea why everyone seems to think Mahtaliel is so dour; I have a hard time seeing any elf be "dour." Stern, maybe, humorless even, but not humanishly dour. That's my opinion anyway. I like Mahtaliel.

Thanks! I have a hard time seeing her as dour too, but the nazgul would likely see elves in a more negative light so it works well enough. That post reminds me of the 'elven smith' scene too, though indoors and less slow-motion, I think I'd like that scene if it had been placed correctly in the timeline... and if I didn't have to remind myself at that point to cross my eyes and attempt to see double in order to remedy the lack of the twins. Yeah... I last watched RotK here in the dorm in the company of rabid slasher fangirls. Doom.
As for our map designers... I know they've been on since I first raised that question. They'll just have to forgive this player's impatience. After staring at the map for a while I figured that most of the buildings down the middle of the campus were classrooms and the like and that the larger hall next door to the chancellor's palace were probably dormitories. Something like that.
