Bush has won Nevada - so with Ohio that will put him over the 270 threshold. He is also ahead by close to 4 million in the popular vote so far too (for those who are interested in the popular vote).

Daschle lost the senate - PARTY TIME

I could never stand him - about time SD kicked him out. The democrats lost their minority leader.

the way it looks now, we must wait 11 days to find out who US new president. with wisconsin called to kerry, the gap between is little. and the onl other counties left, is New Mexico and Iowa, and the two of them would not give enough vootes for either bush, nor kerry. so its Ohio who counts.

The White House Chief of Staff declares that Bush has won in Ohio since his lead is insurmountable. Bush will make a statement later and wants to give Kerry a little time to 'reflect over the results'. The Democrats have not conceded defeat in Ohio though.

I guess I can congratulate the Republicans now

There isn't much hope left that the Democrats can cling on to.

No - all the US media - including NY local news which I am watching now - says that it is impossible for Kerry to make up those votes with the provisional ballots. On average only about 25% of provisional ballots are determined to be valid.

ABC had reported that there were still voters waiting in line at 3:00am.

That stopped counting because it was 5:00am and they had to get some sleep. That's why the states aren't declared yet.

What an exciting election! I stayed up to 3:30 am, went to bed for one hour, then got up at 4:30am to go to work.....it was worth it. This stuff is a lot of fun if you haven't convinced yourself that everyone with a different view on life is an idiot, fanatic, or looser.

I'm convinced that both Georgey and Johnny love their country, are great patriots, and believe that they methodology is best for the country.

The only bummer about this election has been the idea that the "other side" is full of morons.

I figure "we" win whoever wins the election, we're Americans electing Americans, lets be thankful.

*farts very loudly on the water-cooler gang who are confusing thermal nukem sockem bopem with the evidently low supply of creamer for their coffee this morning after last night's all-nighter.......

When you've been up all day? Talk about not caring about an accurate vote.

As long as Ohio was out there - it wasn't necessary to count the Iowa votes yet. They could get a rest.

I haven't slept yet - I'm waiting for Kerry to concede which supposedly should happen in the next hour or two.
