I'm happy because it's weekend, so I can let my hands heal, because the weather is great, because my friend is coming over tomorrow and because my other friend came back from her study abroad today.
Now I only have one friend studying abroad and the others are all back! Of course this means that we are going to have to party soon

I vocalized for 50 minutes today, which is a great improvement on the last time I tried. I've got some of my range back, too... I mean I had it back already, but I couldn't really do scales through it for more than a few minutes, now I can actually 'practice' those notes.
I'm a little out of practice considering that I've barely been able to squeak out a note for two weeks, but I expect it'll come back now that I can practice for solid blocks of time instead of trying to do five or ten minutes. My voice sounds surprisingly okay... It's a little throaty, and of course I'm still so tired that my support isn't great, but the high notes are still pretty decently balanced sound-wise, so... that's good. Makes me happy . |

I lost my top retainer last semester, and my two front teeth have been moving apart .
But today I finally get to go in to get a new retainer made. Hopefully they can set it so that it'll push my teeth back together, but eh... either way, so long as it prevents them from moving further . |

Well, employee training today was incredibly dull, but I DO know how to deal with hazardous materials of all kinds, and I can describe the company's stock system for you in detail . Plus I can't say I feel unprepared for the job. I'm pretty dang confident, actually... dull, but good training.
Plus what's pretty cool is that, at least at this branch, apparently they're really, really big into recycling and they make a big effort to get recyclable materials into the bins. Then the money from that is sent to a children's charity... so that's good . Looks like I'll be working 40+ hours a week till school starts, which will also be good. I thoroughly intend to pay for as much of my student loans as is humanly possibly right upfront . |

For "good" read "a facade".

For "good" try "Tessar will not be rolling in student debt when he graduates unlike some people he could mention" .

Don't get too happy Tess. You could spill McDonalds coffee over your lap tomorrow and get a concussion from it. Or you might leave your pants at the dry-cleaners, and you'll have to run around pant-less.
It's a cruel cruel world. Don't get your hopes up. At all.

I wouldn't have bet it was possible, but has hector managed to get off-topic on the happy thread?
That really makes me happy.

Five! Five frogs in the pond! (Well, technically two of the ponds...) And all fully grown! Woohooo!
Although one wonders whether the never-recorded-before high number of frogs is due to the lousy and wet summer that has been or the now lack of Jinx nibbling on them.

I'm glad you're happy with your frog numbers .
Well, I worked from 4-11p.m. today, doing the full time working with various people at their registers. I either checked people out, bagged, or ran out a couple of carts to people's cars for them. There's a lot to learn, but everyone I worked with said I was doing a really good job, so I'll assume they were telling the truth and give myself a metaphorical pat on the back . Still need to get a lot faster though. O.o Plus I'm turning in my change of hours sheet tomorrow, so right before school starts I -should- switch over to a slightly less stressful schedule. Hopefully nothing over 30 hours, and in slightly shorter shifts. My back is absolutely killing me, but it's nothing I didn't expect . |

Tessar, yay! *pats him on the back in not a metaphorical, but virtual way*
I'm happy because I'm almost going on vacation! And because I'm just weird and happy. Which I usually am. Unless I'm not. Though I'm always weird. [/Mari-blabbering]

To be honest, I'm not sure if this should be in the venting thread or here, but since I call myself the 'spammer of the happy thread'..
I have a cold. I'm staying at my friend's place for a couple of weeks since my flat is rented to someone else. All this lead to this: - I was sentenced to bed for the whole day - I can't leave bed, except if I need food or tea (when he's out of the house - when he's here, I have to ask him to bring me things) - the DVD is set up for me, so I only need to push a button to watch stuff - my computer is connected to the wonderful sound system, so I can listen to my music as loud as I'd like - he made me tea: lemon tea ('psycho lemon', really weird) with honey, garlic and ginger - at the moment he's in a hurry, but standing in the kitchen, making me hot soup.. 8) - I'm sort of enjoying this

And quite reasonably so.
Sounds like a nice fella. And it's good to have friends.
