My body has NOT wanted me to get out of bed the last few days. Even with enough sleep, my eyes are tired, I feel sluggish, and it takes me a really long time to wake up. It takes me a long time to start breathing correctly, too... for some reason my body is not wanting to take deep breaths. Weirdness... I'm assuming it's allergies since it all started when the cold front/rain started blowing through.

I hope it will pass. I hope it isn't hypothyroidism. *huggle*

You sound underoxygenated to me, Tess. What do you take for the allergies?

Usually nothing. If I start to feel like I have drainage though, I'll take an antihistamine and a decongestant so that it (hopefully...) wont affect my vocal cords. Usually I'll catch it in time and wont get a sore throat.

It's not so much like I'm not getting enough oxygen, I just start taking deep breaths in the morning to relax myself (since I usually wake up with tight muscles and my jaw wants to clench)... and that always works. Just lately it takes me a lot longer to get my body to where it's naturally taking those deeper breaths... now I'll focus on taking a few, but as soon as I stop thinking about it I go back to shallower breathing.

I really think it's just allergies... probably making my chest/stomach a little bit tighter, so it just takes longer for me to relax them into a steady breathing pattern .

Bummer! Five months ago we had some layoffs. Two months ago, all our hours were cut. Today we had more layoffs - and I was one of them.

I had really liked my current firm. Pay was good, boss and most co-workers were great. Had been there over 4 years - after a series of 2 to 2 1/2 year stints at other places.

Well... back to the old job search trail.

How irresponsible can a person be? And not just any person: the pope. I mean, if I would've said what he said, it wouldn't matter, because no one would listen (fortunately); but if the pope goes and says that condoms don't help in the fight against Aids and actually increases the problem during his first visit in Africa people might listen. Unfortunately. With millions of people fighing HIV and Aids in Sub-Saharan Africa and the only working solution against the spread of the disease is condoms, this will only serve to make things worse. Will what he says stop people from having sex? No, it'll stop them from having safe sex.

Bastard.

I have to agree with you on that one. If he is really trying to help, I can't see it. In Africa they believe what they want and should do what they want to do. Telling a whole culture they are doing the wrong thing is only going to spark controversy. Do you really think they will all just cheer and say hooray this is the answer! Lets stop having sex and be abstinent. No. No. I do not think so. They have their own culture too, they're are so many religions and differences over there, honestly who is he to boss them around.

Suggest safe sex and teach the dangers of diseases are the best you can do for them.

Thanks for all the sympathetic responses, friends. You are much appreciated.

I have some leads I'll be chasing down the next several days - hopefully for at least something to keep me going in the short-term. I'll let you guys know when things start to look up.

Whenever I hear that song by lady ga-ga or whatever her name is, I always get confused by that bit about "cuz I'm bluffin' with my muffin."

... I mean, okay. I think I know what she's talking about. BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

Argh. I just don't get it, and it annoys me. Fortunately I almost never listen to it, but when I do, IT JUST IRRITATES ME.

Oh, not to mention whenever ANY of her songs come on and I have to ask myself: "Lady Ga-ga"? Really?! Where the heck did that name even come from, much less this muffin that she's bluffin' with....
