Hee hee. What did Eärniel say about neighbours?

Congrats to Ukraine! A worthy winner IMO.

Reminds me - thanks to Norway, Denmark and Finland for giving us 12 points

Which country had the two guys representing it - one had quite curly hair? I only caught the end....

Two guys sitting, one with a guitar? That was the Netherlands. Was a pretty good song.

Bah. No offence or anything BUT
I really don't understand a single point that went to Sweden. That poppy-pop song was not really good. Nah.
It has destroyed my perfect image of Sweden. I will never see this country with the same eyes again. Yuck.
No. No. No.

But I liked the comment of your moderator:
Swedish songs like that one are like Coke. The sell good but nobody knows what the ingredients are.

You're not welcome. I don't understand why we gave any points to Sweden at all. Mutar ni oss eller?

So since the Ukrainian singer won, the 50th Eurovision Song Contest is supposed to be held in Kiev or so next year. But according to the newspaper, it isn't certain that the Ukraine will be able to arrange the contest. The economy and infrastructure of the country speak against it, and government television hardly has any money at all.
That means if the Ukraine decides not to arrange the contest, some other country might be offered to do it - and they say Sweden is a hot candidate. So with some luck, the 50th contest will be held here in Stockholm

This wouldn't be the first time a country 'gives away' the contest to another country. After Israel had won two times in a row, they had no means to organize the contest again and thus, they let the Netherlands be the organizer.

HAHA! I have to agree with you, I have to admit that this was the first Eurovision that I'd watched (partly-watched), and I was thoroughly surprised that few of the songs were as cheesy/bad as the Swedish one or those from Junior Eurovision. A lot of them I loved, but I still don't understand how the Swedish lady could sing about something 'hurting' and pole-dancing like that.

Do people still have "Eurovision parties"? It was a big ironic thing a few years ago, particularly amongst gays, to have a camp-as-knickers cocktail party, as people do for the Oscars.

Hmmm, yeah. And you tell me I like those pop songs. I hated the Swedish song. Bah.

I think in Hamburg they had this big event. Hehehe. I wonder how anyone can attend such an event.

it's nearly time again
i am sure there is nothing political going on, but it is rather strange how the scandinavian nations often vote well on each other, isn't it

It's not Jordan that's 'singing' for us this year is it?!

No, I think it's someone called Javine, but I'm not sure. Either way I don't really care that much!
