If the picture you have is over 10,000 bytes, it won't attach because it's too big. I'm not quite sure how the img tag thing works, but you could always post the picture on your web page and then put a link to it here.

I'm afraid if you want to upload a file from your hard drive, you can only use the attach file function.

I love animals! I have two cats, 1 bunny, 1 ferret, and a goldfish. Pyewacket and Mystra, Loki, Pixie, and piglet respectively. We used to have an older ferret named Buster, but he passed away in july. We miss him very much; he made us laugh everyday. Baby ferret pixie makes us yell everyday! She is still very young and a little bitey. But she is growing like a weed. I love dogs, but i promised myself i wouldn't have a dog while living in an apartment. Ferrets are the best pets ever. they are small and quiet, perfect for apartments, and they will make you laugh all the time! The only trouble is, they like to steal things, I havn't seen the remotes for my tv in a month! Buster used to steal stuffed animals and soap, Pixie steals everything! LOL If you want to see pics of my many roomates, look up my profile and check out my home page. I don't have pics of Pixie the prankster (aka pixel, the pixelator) but I should have some soon.

Thank you, samwiselvr2008! My fish is in a 5 gallon plastic tank with a top. Tanks like that are inexpensive and the top keeps the cat out! It also makes a good "TV" for the cats, letting them watch the fish without getting him. Tell your mom about it, and maybe you could get one sometime. If she still thinks it's a bad idea, wait until you're older. I'm 37 and I still love my golfish!

You've going to have a aweful lot of work with those animals, samewiselvr2008. But it is a rather effective way of keeping your mother from visiting

samwiselvr2008, Cool! It's so nice to talk to someone who loves annimals as much as I do! Just be patient, and when you can get pets take your time and choose them carefully. Pets are a big responsibility, a little like having children, they take time and money to care for. When you buy a pet you are making a vow to that animal that you will take care of it for the rest of it's life!
I was very sad today, because I met a couple who had just gotten rid of their dog. They were moving to another city and "just couldn't find a place that would let them have it". I know it's hard to rent a place that takes pets but it can be done. (beardofpants, that's why I live in apartments in old houses, easier to find one that allows pets!) That couple said how sad they were about getting rid of their dog. I did not feel any sympathy for them. When they got that dog, they had an obligation to take care of him. They ditched him because he wasn't "convenient". It's the dog I feel sorry for. Suddenly torn from his home and family and he doesn't even know why. Maybe it's good he doesn't know why, it would break his heart to know his "loving" family dumped him because he wasn't worth a little trouble. They have a new baby. I wonder how long it will be before they let it down because it isn't convenient. Oh sure, I know they won't dump it. But what kind of parents will they be if they can't even take responsibility for their own dog?

You're right Bregalad. Too many animals get dumped when they have lost their convenience. All three of our cats were dumped. One was put in a box next to the highway when he was young. The two others were strays too that were placed with a 'cat mother' because the animal shelters were full. The stories we heard from that woman were chilling. It's unbelievable how soon people's heart change towards their 'furry children' when they suddenly become a burden instead of a luxury.

Yes, come to think of it, all our cats were strays as well. At one time we had eight that we rescued. It was so heartbreaking.

Its also sad when they kill greyhounds after they can't race anymore. thats why we adopt greyhounds from rescue kennels. We like to save them from the jaws of death. Stupid people who bet on the poor creatures. We are planning on adopting a two year old greyhound from the kennel soon. But some people just don't deserve to live in a world with such respectible animals that are willing to help us.
