Thanks, I like it too (obviously).
I doubt I'll ever reach all of my goals in music, but I can still dream.

What's all this about killing flutes?
Band camp started Thursday. I've decided I play piano better than flute, I like it more too. (warning: mini band camp rant ahead) Marching flute is kinda pointless unless you switch to picc., and more than one picc in a band is hell to tune (played picc in eigth grade, sheesh ) No one can hear you anyway, we are marching filler that must keep our horn angles parallel to the ground ('s the first thing people notice...) We have 15 flutes this year and only 4 are vets! Acctually, they're doing rather good for begining Monday. Ignore my ranting, I'm acctually haveing relative amounts of fun this year. Band is cool. |

Band is the best thing that's ever happened to me...well, band, choir and my introduction to LOTR, I suppose.
Though, I do detest flutes and piccs. They dominate our band, many are annoying, but there are some I am good friends with. My saxaphone can swallow a flute...hehehe.

I also used to play flute ( not irish, but my mom likes the tin whistle). Are Ocarina's common? I like to sing too! It is lots of fun, but if I concentrate too hard on stage, my face turns red... You and I have a lot more in common than I thought!

Wow. I don't know how I missed all these music threads before...
FELLOW BAND GEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! I am a clarinet player!!! I also just started tenor sax lessons. I wanted to play alto, but we have a tenor at home cause my brother played it. He now plays bari, so I get to use the tenor. I'm not so good at it... I get my fingers mixed up often... And I can't get the low notes out to well, still workin on that. I've only had a few lessons, plus I don't get much time to practice it with all this marching band stuff going on. I also restarted piano. I played in 1st grade but didn't like my teacher, so I quit. I just restarted it, so not good at it yet either. I love marching band! This is my first year, so I haven't one many competitions yet, but so far it is a blast! Our band director is awesome. He is encouraging and fun, but also knows how to make us try. I've made so many new friends, everyone in it is nice to everyone, and they are helpful, I just love it!

I do vocals. Never won anything. Was never in a band, but I did Talent shows all through 2nd grade to 12th and sang in every one. I like to Karaoke! We have Karaoke (sp?) at O'Griffs on Sundays, I have a following! I had a voice coach when I was in 6th grade, but he was a mean old Bastard so I left him. I hit the notes alright except for C# over Something that I can't remember it had been along time you know? Anyway, I also do piano, although I am severely mediocre and improvize ALOT!

I played clarinet in band from 4th grade til i graduated high school. I currently play guitar in a band called Ginger Snapt here in Portland. We're kinda like Garbage/Poe/Pink Floyd thrown together. We have yet to win a Grammy .

It is finished. I marched in my last football game tonight. After the game I told myself that I wasn't going to cry, but I did anyway. Seven years of blood, sweat, and tears all finished. I guess I still have college marching band to look forward to.
