I'm still waiting for a candidate to address the issues I feel are truly important, viz., the construction of the 'Moot's very own brewpub.

I will not do that! The teacup is a sacred institution on this board, and I will not see to it's end!

I will do so. I am all in favour of new development, provided it still fits in with the image of the entire board.

However, we will need experienced brewers to support this endevour. Gwaimir, have you any experience in this field?

I'm fairly experienced in drinking at brewpubs, but I've ne'er been the brewer. We'll need someone else to handle that aspect...

I don't understand the offices, their duties, or the platforms of any of the candidates, so I'm eminently qualified to cast a vote in this thing.

I'd like a candidate who promises to put a link back to the main Entmoot page, the main Section page, etc. at the bottom of every page, just like at the top of every page.

Oh, that's a good point DPR! I was thinking about it several times, but I never thought it would be possible. Because if it were, it probably would have been done already right? I mean, it would be very convenient.

You have a week to campaign and vote or I'm taking over by force.

Only a week left? Hmm. I haven't been very active, now have I?
I don't really have much to add to the points I made in the previous elections thread and here, but I would like to say that regardless of my winning or losing, I will continue with my garden-park project and hand out flower seeds to everyone.
If everyone were to raise 1 sunflower, this would a) be a very cheerful looking place and b) we would have enough seeds for baking, eating, etc. after the flowers are gone.

Let's see, this was my original speech, platform, whatever you want to call it.
I added a few points in post #28 of this thread... I guess that's it.
Except for the anthem, it is all rather connected to plants, environment and food
A link at the bottom of the page back to the main menu would be nice too as DPR pointed out.

Not me. Winery, maybe. But brewing beer is too much like work and there's no intermediate anything. Grapes is grapes, you can snack on them. But mash isn't good for much of anything, except the beer, and there's a lot of temperature watching, and shifting containers...lordy, no. I'm not even sure I believe that brew-pubs serve much beer out of those shiny containers. Beer is notional.

I remember I was with some friends at a BJ's brewpub, happily drinking down the porter...and we emptied their tank! When we asked for our fourth (or fifth?) round, they told us that we would have to wait till they opened another barrel! (or whatever they keep it in these days). So, naturally, we moved on to the stout.

EDIT: Wasn't it IRex who had the beer quote in his sig? He should be our brewmeister.

But to make good wine, don't you basically have to live in the right area?

You can grow grapes in any place with a temperate climate. My step-brother-in-law makes wine nearby. He wants to make his own vineyard.

Anyway, is this damn election over with yet? Campaigning should take place for one month only and then be done with.

I'm done. I don't care if anyone votes for me. Tyranny will overcome in the end, so I'm not worried. I know my place, and I know how to get there. It is NOT through elections.

Ok, I won't vote for you then, Katt. That makes it one step easier to decide who to vote for. But, when the time comes, I trust you will find your way to power through other means. I wish you luck. *salute*

Yes, but the question was in regard to making GOOD wine. A friend of mine is from Slovakia, and his father makes wine. Doesn't mean it's good. There's a reason you don't see many Slovakian wines on the market.

I know someone who'd get very angry if she reads that comment...
