The speaker is indeed Eowyn.
DPR - your last post is all correct except the 'for' in the third line. Here's where we now stand: "It needs but one foe to breed a war, not two, Master Warden. And those who have not swords can still die upon them. Would you have the folk of Gondor gather /_o_/ herbs only, when the Dark Lord gathers armies? And it is not always good to be healed in body. Nor is it always evil to die in battle, even in bitter pain. Were I permitted, in this dark hour I would choose the latter." EDIT: It's fun to have one with a little meat to it, huh? *hint, hint*

I tried to do the accent without looking. It should be on the E.
Thusly, Éowyn. Took me a while to find that E!

cow herbs???
Or maybe "dog" or "doe" or... "hot" (as in hothouse?) I know, multiple guesses are cheating. I am brainstorming. I'll say... my guess later.

Hobbit quotes are evil. The house of Hador? Ah, so you're related to that tool who stole a Silmaril and by marriage to that crazy lady who had long conversations with my half-cousin and thought she was good enough to marry his brother. Right. As if the Atani (even if you are Edain) would be good enough to marry one of the Noldor. Puh-lease.

The word "now" is incorrect. The rest of the quote is correct, and it was indeed Gandalf.
Morgoth, Maedhros, and Maglor are the only ones who ever stole Silmarils. Beren recovered one from a crown somebody left laying on the floor, but that isn't the same thing, especially since he didn't keep it. He gave it to Middle Earth's oldest special olympian. In all seriousness, though, neither race of children are better than the other.

And sure they are, the Noldor are better, and you know it, even if you don't admit it. EDIT: Just checked. I'm right. *jumps around* I got a Hobbit quote! I got a hobbit quote! I'll put my quote in the next post. *gentle reminder* Wow, Valandil and Eärniel, it sure would be nice to be able to use quotes from HoME or The Children of Húrin...

Fair shall the end be, though long and hard shall be the road! Say farewell to the weak! Say farewell to your treasures! More still shall we have. Journey light: but bring with you your swords! For we will go further than Oromë, endure longer than Tulkas: we will never turn back from pursuit. After Morgoth to the ends of the earth! War shall he have and hatred undying. But when we have conquered and have regained the Silmarills, then we and we alone shall be Lords of the unsullied Light, and masters of the bliss and /b_a_t_/ of Arda. No other race shall oust us!"
One word off. Aarrgh! It isn't "beasts" but it fits.

You sure that's an 'a' and not an 'e'?
'Cuz in my mind I hear the word 'breath'. Or maybe it's a 'w' and not a 'b'? "wealth".
