[QUOTE=Valandil]Cool! Yes - I sort of liked that old crew... as Janet says, it was a different role though. And... technically, she wasn't his wife at the time - someone else was. I think Mr Roddenberry was associated with a few different actresses in the show, sadly enough.
QUOTE] Actually, GR was dating MB and NN both -at the same time. There was a mildly tense episode when they confronted one another and told him he'd have to choose between them. He chose; guess the times weren't up for it.

Plus - the actress who played Yeoman Rand didn't name names - but she wrote a book and indicated that someone had made "demands" or something like that. What was her name... Grace... something?

In the original Star Trek television series Janice Rand (played by Grace Lee Whitney) served as a yeoman to Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) in 2266, assisting him with his job.

Grace Lee Whitney was also on the design team for the great short skort uniforms the girls wore on the original! She was also a bit of a drunk as well which lead to her getting cut short.. probably didn't want to do it with a producer even though she was hammered at the company party!

Grace has overcome her problems and is something of a poster woman for recovery among us Trekkies. I'm glad Rand got promoted. She was on Sulu's ship as, what a Lieutenant Commander in Communications, I think.
