And, by the way, depends on how you define "animals..." Sensitive organisms? Sure!

Why, I don't have any money to spend!

When it comes to politics, I am less fiscally conservative, as it is more important to maintain my social values than pay down the debt. I do like to see spending reduced by increasing efficiency, but I am okay with the government spending for the benefit of society. That's why I like the Progressive Conservatives so much - they were socially liberal in their policies and fiscally conservative in their spending. It was awesome.

For my personal life, fiscal conservatism simply means not revolving a balance on my credit card and avoiding spending too much on luxuries.

What's wrong with any of that? I will defend fiscal conservatism almost as passionately as I defend social liberalism.

Animals are organisms in the kingdom Animalia. That does include us humans now.

EDIT: Maybe we should start PMing each other, as this no longer has anything to do with Muslims.

I'm on a slow public PC so I didn't read the link but from what i've been reading as far as news goes I doubt it effects all that much except like Colbert said the guy running against foley has got to be luckiest ---fill in the blank- in america.

I think most people know that right now theres gonna be a lot of mud and smokescreens going on; so in the long run I don't know how much good it'll do the dems.

Significantly, fully 71 percent of the respondents, including two-thirds of Democrats, said Foley's resignation would have "no effect" on whether they'll vote for Mahoney. An even bigger majority - 72 percent - said the Foley scandal wouldn't influence their voting patterns in other races.
Egads! Voting for +Mahoney? Who would???

I heard this election was in two weeks. But it can't be that soon.

Well, I was only half-listening to the radio at the time. When is it really?

That is soon. The Democrats and Republicans must have candidates by now, they have to start campaigning! But a quick Google didn't turn up their names.

They have a lot of candidates. In Missouri it Jim Talent (rep) V. Claire Mcaskill (dem) in Virginia its Allen (rep) V. Webber (dem). thats the only two I can list off the top of my head but that should get your google engine running.

I thought parties could only have one presidential candidate.

This is an off-year election. Presidential elections happen every four years- last one in 2004, next one in 2008.

Elections for the entire House of Representatives happen every two years; one-third of the Senate is also elected every two years (Senators serve a six-year term).

Nurv, Nurv ,Nurv- you're letting down the side- how can we Canucks indulge in our time-honoured national sport of making fun of Americans for being ignorant about Canada with counter-examples like this?
