It's nice you had some time to write. Haiku is interesting, but a lot of people make a mess of it. I'd be interested to read it, to see how you adopted it

I have been good Working a lot for school and reading, reading, reading
I had some time to lounge today though ^_^
I'll send piccies when I can. Can't resist puppy eyes, can I? I failed no courses, just got lower grades than I thought I would. If something went badly, then it was geology. Oh! I forgot! There's going to be a (party) meeting of us abis again. That'll be great, esp. since we'll be celebrating a girl's birthday.

yes, I am in a very energetic mood. And Noble, my dog chewed the disk, so I got to go get a new one... It doth suck mightily. Do you have OBSE? If so, teach me to use it?

I have it alright, but I wished you could teach me to use it. XD I would use deadly reflex, horse combat and enchanting unlocker. I'll try to learn, so I can teach it to you. Am busy though.

Yeah, for the first time since we moved here, I feel better about Arizona You wouldn't believe how much lead was flying! My daughter turned to me and said, "What's stopping someone from just turning around and shooting people?" I said, "Nothing! But they wouldn't get too many shots off ... "

There was a lot of security, and the gun reps walked the gun you chose to the shooting line, loaded it there, stood next to you while you shot, and took it from you at the shooting line. Still, someone certainly could have gone rogue. But hey, gotta get out and do things!

Eh, I just didn't like how the Glocks looked, and I didn't like the sight on the one I shot.

Well, Glocks are known for their endurance and accuracy, not beauty. Want pretty? Get a Volkman Custom 1911 or a Springfield Armory. Or a Taurus, they have some good looking and very functional models, just a subsidiary of Baretta. Hell, even work horse SigSaur has some nice designs.

But Glock... nope.

Inspired by the song about Henry VIII.

"I'm Hector B - I am,
Hector B - I am, I am!
I've been posting on the moot long time
See, I actually got it to rhyme.
Hector, Hector!"

(Second verse, same as the first)

I know, right? My literature teach drives me CRAZY. We spent a whole hour and a half yesterday analyzing a translation of a haiku. Not only did we analyze it based on the individual words of the translation, but on the bloody sounds of the words. Yeah everyone, I'm sure there was alliteration in the original Japanese too, right in that spot. And I'm sure the author was aware that the "k" in "drift back" makes a "hard" sound. I'm sure that was deliberate. And she totally missed the meaning of the whole haiku, that or she knew it but was just trying to see if we would guess it ourselves. Who knows, right?

Hehe, true. It's the same for poetry though. Fact is that even Basho's furuya ike ni has been translated so many times in so many different ways... I translated it myself too for my thesis
I once read a literary article on haiku-clubs in Japan. Apparently there are a lot of clubs with a huge number of members, but in the more prestigious clubs, you are not allowed to even write a haiku till you have proven to be able to analyze 'good' (i.e. approved) haiku properly and possessing the right state of mind.
It's a real rank-system there...

Can I get anyone a glass of lemonade? Four-fruit flavour

How good of a translation was it? It's a pity you didn't have the original alongside the translation, that can be quite helpful when having to work with translated verse...
