they think punk is metal? thats sad. they need to be educated on things. some people are so ignorant.

I just got The Ataris's new CD (So Long, Astoria). It's an awesome CD. It's sort of punk, but sort of not. Their older stuff is definitely punk though.

Blue grass is pretty fast as it is! Retro country is popular on the local scene here, there's a little "doo dah" around bands doing a edgy Ernest Tubb deal...a la Junior Brown, playing his guit/steel (an instrument he created that is bot an elctric guitar and a steel guitar) and the ever cool BR549. (the phone number that was always given on Hee Haw)
Roots type music is always edging around...it's a shame country music got so stinky back in the late 70's with the Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Rodgers type stuff. My hubby goes to a bluegrass jam once a month at a the Thorntown Quaker church. He always retained his love of bluegrass even though rockabilly and rocking country are the favored. I guess the Bean Blossum festivals in the seventies were pretty "far out"!
Did you ever hear of a guy called Webb Wilder? I think he's a dj now, but he and his band were hot stuff in the 80's! ehh...I could talk about music in my sleep! Are there any good music forums that you know of IR?
