well lets see I like horses, have horses do some rodeo so being a rohirrim was a natural choice but someone already was "rohirrim" so I had to come up with something else. Because team roping happens to be my sport i put in the initials TR in caps and it took it and here I am, pretty much end of story, but maybe it'll get the thread going. but actually me9996 might really be trying to kill this thread since that is his sig hmm *considers various conspiracy theories*
Edit: just fixing grammar.

Oh c'mon me9996, you didn't kill this thread, you revived it!
So here goes my story: while I was first reading LOTR, and was fascinated yet without any knowledge, I almost immediately started making up names. And then I got the Sil, and in the appendices there were some Elvish rootwords listed. I was really glad, and went on with name making, unconsciously messing everything up - didn't know anything of Quenya or Sindarin or whatever. Adanel became my favourite; my intention was to put something together with a meaning 'daughter of men'. Sort of... Then one day, out of curiosity, I typed Adanel into Google... and found out that Tolkien actually had a character named Adanel! A figure of a wise-woman, my unintentional and unknown namesake... thus, afterwards I became Little Adanel, to be slightly different while keeping the name.

Well, I was registering at the highschool I attended for the AP Biology online crap, and decided to think of something that'd suit me. Thus Nautipus was born. It is a fusion of two of my favorite cephalopods, the nautilus and the octopus (could also equal octilus, but I like the other better). So there you go. Been using it ever since.

Aha! I knew it was a fusion of those two critters. So, you are a shelled octopus in my mind's eye.

Kind of like this guy? Argonaut
This actually is a shelled octopus, called a paper nautilus. (although only the female makes the shell)

Never knew there was a thread like this.
I use the nickname I used in Japan. I've also been called himawari at times, which is a wordplay on Mari. Himawari is a sunflower, but literally means something like "turning towards the sun". Because apparently the people around me open up to me like sunflowers to the sun... or so I've been explained. It sounds nice anyway, makes me feel appreciated. I'm glad I chose to use Mari, because now, after leaving Japan you people are the only ones who still call me that and I kinda miss my nicknames.

Okay, siscous, I know this is probably staring me right in the face, but let's pretend for a moment that I'm as dense as I seem: Where did you get your name?
