The climax has to be the battle before the Black Gates, interrupted by the coming of the Eagles and the destruction of the Ring when all appears lost.

There will have to be 2 climaxes type of thing as there are 2 distinct storylines by then , i think from listening to fat bloke down the pub rumour monger that they will be somewhere as follows-
1 Frodo and sam will finnish just before shelob 2 the company will be climaxed with Saruman at orthanc ( maybe even saruman on his wheel of fortune death scene ) That will leave the company splitting up to go their seperate ways and frodo and sam to start the return of the king with the scrap with shelob ! oh and arwen to take on souron and kick his arse!!!!! probably wrong as movies love to give out misinformation.

I don't want a wheel of fortune death scene. Why can't they just make Wormtongue stab him?

If Saruman dies on a wheel of death the PJ will meet then same fate.
Darn typos...

uhhh huuuuuh
rei will hunt him and with a mighty stroke hew him down before the gates, and he will never be seen by mortal man again.
kinda Tolkeinesque quote dontcha say?? i saw on one web site that old haldir will get knocked off ( preceeded by all the other elves) by a uruk just before Aragorn can save him, that too tolkeinesque.......... makes sense they dont fit inot the plot but i figured a few might make it for the paths of the dead in place of the Grey company. But you couldnt have Hladir as he is more than just any elf at that point of his introduction mind you he could fill in Halbarads shoes who dies latert ahhh then gain yes he does fot that role quite well Haldir= halbarad kicks off at helms deep ,instead of the pelennor fields thoughts??? |

A thought about Saruman's rumored death on a wheel -- he might get pushed out a window by Grima (or just fall- but that's too much like Gollum's fate) and fall onto one of his engines/wheels/devices that are all around Orthanc in the pits he dug there. Sort of engineering his own destruction. |

I don't think it's Rei that PJ should be scared of. I *am* just a train away from where he lives.
Later Edit: What the hey?! Soldiers from Gondor?!

grey company??
hmmm i didnt mean the dead,or think they should be excluded that would be a BIG mistake i agree, but i was always under the impression the grey company refered to the living members ( ie Aragorn, Gimli, legolas and the rangers )that went thru the paths not the dead that aragorn summoned after travelling Dunharrow ...

Sauraman will die in two towers i am willing to bet. there are a few simple movie making reasons for this.
A) the good guys allways win B) the Bad guys allways die non tolkien reader will just be really confused if he is allowed to live. and why should he live he has been responsiable for the deaths of thousands. Do you think Theoden would be happy just letting him hang out at home. In the movie he has been set up as a full scale baddie and therefore must die. Its also kinda dumb having him die for a little worm of a human. I think we are gonna see a full scale wizards show down again.

hmmmmmmmmm maybe but its not the way movies work to show the same thing twice. im not ure what they will use. Its clear gandalf can produce lighting or maybe a sword fight. i really do think they will do the same as last time. mainly because that wont work so well outdoors

I thought your comment on the other thread was interesting about how they'll handle the battles (fighting at Isengard after Helm's Deep). I wonder, though, if we'll get to see the ents taking over Isengard. THAT would be cool.
Aaah, it just makes me want more and more for PJ to mirror the book! I wonder if in the future someone will take on the project of really dramatizing it in a way that will include all the elements of the book exactly, just dramatizing the descriptive parts. |
