I'll be happy to join in. Are you still doing Lord of the Flies? I've been meaning to read that for a while now.

It kind of fell by the wayside, but if you do read it, I'll be happy to start discussing it again. However, we'd already done through chapter 8, so just start posting in the thread when you reach that point.

I may pass on Lord of the Flies then - since I'm not going to get through to chapter 8 of a long time, but I'll be happy to join in with the next book.
There is going to be a next book? It'd be a shame to let this pass (I never knew about this thread until Jonathan posted about it in the campagining thread).

I'm sorry to say I got bored with The Lord of the Flies and returned it to the library. I suppose it depends on the book; LOTF was not the kind of book I like, though I did try.

Maybe, but there may be a bit more interest now. Like I said I never knew of this thread, so others probably didn't either. You could try to start it up again and if you don't get enough interest then do what you will with the thread. Again, like I said before, it'd be a shame to let this drop. It looks like good fun.

I'd be happy to discuss an interesting book if the discussions can be revived.

Any particular reason it was, "Lord of the Flies"? Does it HAVE to be a "Lord of the (fill-in blank)" book?

Why? "Lord of [insert word(s) here]" tend to be very good

I'm not good at participating in these discussions, though I like reading other people's opinions.
But I have to say that I loved LotF, so you really should try to read it!! I even read it in English, 'cause we had to read a book in an English class. It's a million times better than the movie..

If you ever start doing this again, I'd be happy ot be a part of it too. I'm cool with pretty much any book, so long as it's...discuss-able.

See, there are plenty of mooters who are willing to be part of the book club! Can you please start it up again?

I'm interested in a book discussion. Just read Lord of the Flies myself for school!

Anyway, I'd be happy to join in the discussions, but it's sort of hard for me to properly participate in a book club right now. I have a great suggestion for you though, what about "Two Years Before the Mast" by Richard Harvey Dana, Jr. It is great! I just read it, so I'll wait for you guys and discuss it if you want.

No it wasn't boring. I'm not quite sure what I meant when I said that! (back in March). Maybe just that some books aren't interesting and I wouldn't want to discuss one that wasn't. That's nothing different though. Hmm
