I have done a few desktop backgrounds related or influenced by Tolkien and his work. This is one of my favorites. I took some liberty on the armor and such, but I still like it.
It is pretty big, 1280x960... http://www.deviantart.com/view/1165517/

Here is a sketch that I just made.
[Some viewers may not like bjork, but I like the Muave tones & the hair outline.] If you cannot get it to open, I apologize. I need to download all of my art to a website of my own. I will post the link here... Last edited by Lady Tinuveil : 10-20-2003 at 02:16 AM. |

ok...here are pics of Annatar (one of my favorite characters!), Arien and Feanaro dancing with Nerdanel...sorry they aren't very big but there is a limit and I can't quite remember how to get into my college's free web space to put them on my website.

Wow! Really nice, Arien!
Your Annatar is really good - v. proud and insolent looking. I love the color of his shirt, and the swagger in his shoulders. Feanaro and Nerdanel is really beautiful - you really captured movement, and a nice relational sense between the two. I really like your drapery work in both these pics. Feanaro is proud, but you can see why he married Nerdanel - and also why they parted (but now he's with you, so it ended up good! ) Arien is nice - great colors - but you do drapery so well, I would almost prefer her in a long, clingy gown. (this is all a completely uneducated opinion - I have NO artistic training! - but sometimes an ignorant person's viewpoint is useful )

I wish I could make the pics bigger so that you can see more detail but the limit is soooo small that it's rather impossible When I first finished Arien I thought that the Feanor and Nerdanel pic wasn't as good but then I completed Annatar and I found that all three pics each have a unique beauty about them....My final pic is going to be of either Yavanna, or Haleth....I can't decide yet....any thoughts? it has to be a girl and from the Silmarillion or anything not in LotR. If I ever find out how to upload things to my school website space I'll post bigger versions of them |

Arien your pictures are so wonderful.
Yavanna is allways a good motive. And that reminds me of somthing. I nearly forgot to post this here. I've made a new oil-picture about two month ago: YavannaNienna And till I remade my hp, you can see my other pics (water-colour) at: http://www.faszination-fantasy.de/galerie.htm Use the link "Herr der Ringe" and then "Bilder von D.Bolz"
