Hiya Link! I've been keeping up with your life through FB
I'm glad you like it so much. Yeah, Phelps... the guy who disrupts funerals for fun. Bloody rude, insensitive idiot.

On to more pleasant matters. The weather's finally nice again for the weekend. Anyone joining me for a cup of tea in the sunny garden?

I'd love to. At the moment, with so many things on my mind, a few minutes in a sunny garden is precisely what I need

Sun. Yes, I'm in! Oh no, wait, need to walk the dog, get the laundry in and leave for a birthday party in 30 minutes. No time. Argh! >_<
Enjoy!

In other news:
Today Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara have been shooting scenes for the upcoming film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, just outside my window here in downtown Stockholm

Those three was the most horrid movies I've ever seen. I'm not gonna see the American versions.

They're doing another version? What's the point of that? The Swedish ones were pretty much alright (actually I only saw the first one) except for not getting all the plot points quite as well as the books did. But I probably won't watch the next two or read the next books. I don't think it would be worth my time, honestly.
That's neat to see filming right outside your window though!

Americans always do their own film and tv versions of stuff they think are alright
The first film I think was quite good. The second and third, not no much. I didn't bother to finish the first book because the film had spoilt the plot for me already, but the book was readable indeed.

My boyfriend told me I should watch the movie first. But I insisted on reading the book first because book takes first priority over movie. So my experience of the movie was somewhat lessened, but my experience of the book was spoiler-free and optimal. I think it's a book that can be interesting even if you know what happens, so I understand why he recommended I watch the movie first. But not to the extent of something like, say, Romeo and Juliet (everyone knows how it ends, but it's still good to read). Or Lord of the Rings. Which I'm anxious to start re-reading again but I want to read some Halloween books this month instead.

Something terrible happened. I went to the guitar store to test out a baritone ukulele, and I really liked it. Then I fell in love with a 3/4th size Martin guitar. >.<
Now I don't know what to do. The ukulele is nice because you only have to bother with four strings.... but the little Martin guitar sounds sooooooooooooooooooo pretty. The ukulele is a bit lighter, and it offers the convenience of just the four strings. But I don't knooooow. The smaller guitar would also be easily portable, and it sounds gorgeous. Well, I'm giving myself till December or January to decide, so more testing is definitely in order... but for the moment I'm completely stumped. |

Of course, they have to put space monkeys in the re-make.

Is this space monkey talk a reference to something?
I was thinking that my old roommate played ukulele but it wasn't, it was a banjo. But I think she had a ukulele around somewhere.

"Double Ten' is also the Happy Birthday of the Republic of China- except a huge chunk of the citizens of said country here in Taiwan hate the concept of the ROC and refuse to celebrate it. It means it's basically for officialdom- a few parades, mostly military and some school kids dragooned into it.
And this year it's on Sunday and they never give us an extra day off if the holiday is on the weekend... hey, I guess this turned out to be a vent!

Why? I mean, could you develop just a tiny bit?
