I finally saw it, and it was too short, an odd thing to complain about, but they didn't set anything up for the second film.

If you watch the DVD in the special features they have a few deleted scenes which will make the second movie tie in nicely. While we're on the subject, any news about if they are making a second one? :P

Oh I hope not, they murdered this one. Or, if they do make a second one, completely change directors/compainies/actors. (Except keep Jeremy Irons)

And perhaps stick with the book next time?

The book was an ok read, I suppose...probably better for someone a bit younger than most of the Mooters but it wasn't horrendous.

My biggest complaint with this movie (all movies really) is the dragon. A movie will almost never portray a dragon the way an author describes it. Example. In Harry Potter, the dragon walked on two hind legs and had wings resembling a bat with the clawed hand like attachment. It was what almost everyone calls a wyern. The thing with this dragon was that it had feathered, not webbed, wings. Anyway, I think it's just a pet peeve I have...I suppose a feather winged dragon does look better on screen. *shrug*
I love the book(s), but I was really disappointed with the movie. Or let´s put it this way: the movie is quite good, if you won´t read the book. I HATE it when those damn writers chance the script just to fit their thoughts! If my book ever makes it as far as becoming a movie, I´ll make sure they won´t change the script an inch.... Or they´ll find a nice big bruise around their eye. Feathered wings, thou say? I think they´re scaled but were made to LOOK like they got feathers. I dunno...

some of the deleted and extended scenes were closer to the book than the actual movie.

...Come to think of it, I think I´ll buy that DVD after all.
And I´ll open a thread for my book!

Book-Movie comparisons aside...I thought the acting was VERY weak. Even some of the very talented actors in the film were given weakly written parts (screenplay-wise) and therefore made to look like bad actors.

This was so not like the book! They wrote all the story out of the story. It is just a chain of events...
I want part three of the book so I can finally finish the story...

Say, has anyone here played the game for PS2? I´d like to know whether it´s worth buying. Please don´t start a great length of answers, or the modders will throw me out of this lovely moot.

For just gameplay, eh, its alright. Very frustrating at times due to poor story boarding and controls. Rental, maybe, buying, nah.
