*FLAME STRIKE*
A Druid is a religious position, not a race. Hence it cannot be a contender for favorite race!

Which leads me to the question: are there even druids in Middle-earth or did I just miss a substantial part of Middle-earth?

Nope, no druids. JRRT tried very hard to keep overt religion out of the Legendarium, and Druids are priests.

Well, I think hobbits are the most original race in Tolkien's works, but i don't think they're my favorite. It is hard to decide, though. Probably, though, I'd have to go for those doughty, long-lived people from Numenor- where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking and all the children are above average.

*rolls up the sleeves and pulls on a Druid Hat. Pulls out a scroll.*
"Ahem." *EMPOWERED MAXIMIZED FLAME STRIKE* 'Druid' is not a race. PERIOD. In fact, in addition to not being a race it is not an Ethnicity, not a culture, not even technically a religion. It refers to a specific order of people within a specific religious tradition that was limited to a specific geographic location. You're just plain wrong. 'Druid' is not a possible answer to the question 'What is your favorite race in Middle Earth'. It just doesn't work. AT ALL. So, uh... Welcome to Entmoot!

Ah! But why not be both!
Besides, it's so easy to be insufferable when you're right.

Not really, no. See, the pants are a bit more solid, and so are less likely to... er... 'wedge'. O.o

*Sigh*
Excuse me. I'm dreadfully sorry about having to do this. *Wild Shapes into a Huge Fire Elemental* *Hits Lostyia Delr-Padroot with two Slam attacks. To the head.* Does anyone even get that joke? I'm not actually sure people know what I'm referring to.
