Well, to be honest, I thought BoP's sig was really funny. And I'm American, so there. Maybe it's because I had a painfully enlightening experience regarding my less-than-Geographically-knowledgeable countrymen and women, when my Canadian dorm-mates forced me to watch taped episodes of Talking to Americans in my freshman year of university.

Oh and like Canadians or anyone else around the world is smarter when they say "New Jersey is part of New York - right?" Also - most outsiders have no idea where the states are in relation to each other. Americans are no more geographically challenged than other countries. You know - what -all it takes is for people to get a fringing atlas - like I have.

Do you know how many conversations with people outside the US where they had no concept of anything about our country? Many of those people are right here on Entmoot too.

Crick did you ever think that it might make the show funnier to have "ignorant" americans - not the ones who know things on there. Based on my exerience - the US can easily do a show like that about other countries - but unlike them towards us - we respect them more and don't put those kind of negative shows on.

BTW - I had seen that show too.

I think the worst part was when the Governor of Arkansas took the bait hook, line, and sinker, faced the camera oh-so-seriously, and said, Mr. Prime Minister, please act now to preserve Canada's National Igloo...but this link has some other good ones as well.

yeah and I saw that - he seemed very uncomfortable. It was more like he was put on the spot and didn't want to call them idiots more than anything else. As for a national igloo - why isn't it possible. New Jersey has a state shell, state dinosaur, etc. Canada is MOSTLY ice to the north.
