My absolute all-time favorite character from any book: Captain Yossarian from 'Catch-22' (Joseph Heller)
Some other greats: Winston Smith, '1984' (George Orwell) Lola Hart, 'Random Acts of Senseless Violence' (Jack Womack) Eliot Rosewater, 'God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater' (Kurt Vonnegut) Many others I can't really think of right now...
