King Arthur Cast
Ya let's get some brits in there!! I'm Canadian and this cast looks way to Americanized... which in the end will just make it more expensive...
Some suggestions and others can put them into places: Anthony Hopkins Clive Owen Ioan Gruffudd Keira Knightley Rupert Everett Izabella Scorupco Christian Bale Bale is freakin perfect for Feanor as some have allready mentioned, and he's gonna be Batman this year!!! Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors and can easily play any role... but Bale is just too Feanor after watching American Psycho it just seems to fit so nicely. Matthew McConaughy Diane Kruger Eric Bana Adoni Maropis Connie Nielsen Kate Winslett |

(sheesh, HIM obsession.)
Ewan McGregor as Maglor... Rupert Everett as Saeros. Luthien is a hard role to cast... I'd say someone like Diane Kruger, probably with her hair brown or black.

Personally I think Catherine Zeta-Jones would be a good choice for Luthien. Remember, any actress playing Luthien would need to be able to sing and dance as well as look pretty while playing a strong-willed elf woman.
Also, is it just me or is Brad Pitt just a tad too human for Finrod? It's his cheekbones and the jawline, they're squared and rounded at the same time and it doesn't look right, which is a pity, finding good actors that look good with fair hair is going to be a bit of a problem in casting this.

I would like to see John Cleese as Thingol (if he could do it in a serious way), he is certainly tall enough (over 6 ft at 12 years old ) Peter O'Toole as the old Hurin would be good Yul Brynner as Eol would work Ewan MacGregor as Maeglin..? |

John Cleese as Thingol... *snerk* That's not a bad idea. It appeals to my sense of humor anyway. Of course I'm sure he could do it seriously, but some mental images just won't be quiet.

But can you really see Cleese being father to the most beautiful creature ever?
Actually, he'd be very good, but I keep seeing Stephen Fry in the role. Serious Stephen Fry. Not funny.

What about Cary Elwes as Fingon? (The Princess Bride, Robin Hood Men In Tights)
I think we could find an Elvish role for Robin Wright Penn (Princess Bride). What? Some very good-looking actors and actresses were employed in The Princess Bride.

Silmarillion Film Casting!
Here is a thread devoted to Silmarillion Casting ideas.
1. Gerard Butler (Turin Taramber). For anyone who saw him in Timeline he has the look and the acting ability to pull this role off. Turin is always portrayed with really dark hair and with a temper....so what better than an angry Scotsman to play the role. 2. John Noble (Hurin). Well think about it. The guy has the right look...and about ten years from now would be the right age to be Gerard (Turin's) dad. 3. Adrien Brody (either Fingolfin, Finarfin, Fingon). This one could be amazing...he is the most elvish looking actors I've EVER seen, not to mention his is an Oscar Winner and has the talent to play one of the good less tempestuous elves (in my opinion he would not be a good Feanor) Well these are the choices I have for now....Of course if I were making films of the Sil I would at the very LEAST audition all these people. In my opinion Butler and Brody would have decent shots at actually being cast. What do you all think? I like to think creative when casting (not just randomly pick the entertainment business most high wattage stars). All these actors are know or up and comming, however I would probably look for a lot of unknowns in theater companies around the world. The reason these three film actors are being considered is their resemblance and acting caliber for the parts. Okay....enough of my essay.

Jeff Goldblum!!!! Holy Toledo!
Oh, it's been a while since I read it, but... I'd definitely see Russell Crowe in Beren. I think... who was that lady in Gladiator?... Connie Nelson! would play a good Galadriel. Maybe Claire Danes as Niniel (she was in the silly, right? It's been a while). Summer Glau as Luthien. ?
