Being sick and tired sucks
Hope it goes away soon!

*sigh* This evening is just a bad one. Nothing ever turns out like anyone thinks it will. Staying the same for too long sucks.

Two of my best friends just broke up, and the girl in particular is devastated... the guy (who is the one that did the breaking up) is also feeling really bad... he almost started crying when I was talking to him this afternoon.
Just now the girl called me sobbing hysterically and telling me about some stupid, heartless and brainless things some of her 'friends' said that really made her angry and I had no idea what to say to her except to remind her what a strong, wonderful person she was... and I think she calmed down a little, but I feel like I didn't do enough. I've never really had to deal with crying people before over the phone... What are you supposed to do?! When I'm in person I just sit next to them or hug them, but I mean... over the phone? I just sat there with the phone and said 'mmhm, yeah, yeah mmhm,' and I think I said, 'I'm so sorry,' a few times whenever she paused like she was waiting for me to say something. I don't know what to do, because I don't know what it's like to have a really bad breakup. My first ex I was totally emotionally detached from because of the whole 'giving me mono' thing, and my second ex I ended up being emotionally detached from because of some stupid things that were said. I have no idea what it feels like to break up with someone you actually love, or to be broken up with by someone you're in love with... and for that matter I've never been in a relationship longer than two months. Geeze. I want so much to help my friends but I don't know what, if anything, I can do. What are you supposed to do? I mean... what should I do, or be trying to do for my friends? Am I supposed to ask them every once in a while 'how are you doing?'? or should I pretend like nothing happened unless they bring it up again? EDIT: Can I also mention that this has been a SUPER stressful day? I failed my entire aural skills class because I got so anxious that I mentally flipped out on my sight singing final today, and because I got a D on that I've failed the entire semester (you have to get at least a C on the final, or even if you had an A average they fail you), I was seriously considering changing majors because I've been having what feels like so many endless vocal problems lately, my dad is changing to a job that pays $13,000 LESS a year (and I know that within 6 months TOPS he'll hate this job too, because this is how the cycle ALWAYS goes!) and it's worth mentioning that the job he has NOW paid less than his previous job, which ALSO paid less than the job before that (and of course within literally weeks of working at each place he started hating the people there), and... just... argh. Things took a sudden, horrible turn right here at the end of Thanksgiving break. WTF HAPPENED? Argh. Last edited by Tessar : 12-02-2009 at 02:39 AM. |

I'm sorry about all that, Tess! *hugs*
About the talking on the phone thing... maybe if it happens again do what you already did (It may feel incompetent, but it's usually the only thing you can safely say really) or ask her if you should come over. So what will happen for you at school now?

WHOA! O_o My iPod thing is shipping from CHINA!!! If I had known that, I would've paid the extra $10 to get it shipped express. Last time I ordered something it just took a few days, because it shipped from the States, not from China. Right now my iPod is apparently on an island. ..... in Hong Kong.

You know, I don't even remember what on earth was going on when I made my last post here, but looking at it, I would guess I was feeling icky about being stuck in a dating routine which felt like it would never end. Little did I know (oh, how little!) that a mere THREE DAYS LATER, I would be wearing a ring home!
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!

Lol! I certainly hope the penguins keep their paws off - otherwise it's an indication of a pretty big detour after Alaska

When my iPod mini broke, I really wanted to get one of the newer Nanos, but I didn't have the money at the time, so I got a Sansa 2gb mp3 player on sale for $15 shipped, and I couldn't be happier with it. I like it better, especially it is good for running. iPod Nanos certainly are blingy though.
What kind of iPod are you getting, Tessar? |

I know, penguins live at the south pole, but the image in my head was funnier with penguins than polar bears .
IT'S IN MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE. O_o Katya, it's an iPod touch. |

Then there are these penguins that go everywhere.
Even to where you can find Gnus.

You know, I think I actually need a good chinese name for my iPod, considering its unexpected point of origin .
Maybe penguin? In Chinese? To symbolize the coming together of nations in order to provide me with my iPod . |

I looked it up - penguin in Mandarin is qǐ é (pronounced something like "chee er") and looks like this in Chinese writing.
Are you ready to call your iPod by this name?

IT'S SO CLOSE I CAN ALMOST TASTE IT!!! O_o It tastes..... it tastes like...... awesome.
It's here. In meh city. Meh iPod is in meh city! It made some huge sort of state-boundary leap that brought it from the upper edge of the USA to the lower edge of the USA. I hope it gets delivered tomorrow. >.> That would be sooooooooo friggin' sweet, considering that the thing estimated not till the 15th. I can hear its sweet siren call even as I type this. |
