Please, Daisy. I know the those words by heart... I mean... erm... thank you for posting MMMBop for my perusal.
I agree that the words are not bad for a pop song, and are ultimately harmless. (This is written in the context of having seen the Spice Girls video 'Wannabe' today. Oh the shame.) However, the lyrics are nothing special even for a pre-teen, and do not challange. 'So?' you say, 'Are they supposed to?' I'm curious as to your praise of their independant route. I may be completely wrong here, heck it wouldn't be the first time, but I felt that that was part of Hanson's charm, that they weren't very manufacture. Again I refer you to the Spice Girls...

So then Hansonites. Which of the three is the odd one out? (Clue: the question is brought on by looking at the credit in MMMBop: 'I. Hanson/T. Hanson/Z. Hanson' )

Good. I'll come back to the second half later.
What is their father's name?

Really? How unfortunate, that makes my clue to part two rather confusing...
Erm... *laugh nervously to self* Ok. If Zac wasn't called Zac, but was called Walker like his father, he would want to differentiate himself from his father by using his middle name. His father would be Walker Hanson, and Zac would be called Walker Walker Hanson. Who else uses Walker to differentiate himself from his father. Dammit! The prominant figure with the same middle name uses 'Walker' instead of being 'X X the second'

I think he's trying to compare Zac Hanson to George W. Bush, but I don't think even he knows what he's doing
I agree that it is hard to work out Hanson lyrics sometimes, but when you read them they can be great. The words of 'Penny and Me' are lovely - really sweet and honest and tender. As for "challenging" lyrics, how about "Yearbook"?

Yearbook sounds darker than other ones, it's much more mature than the rest of Middle of Nowhere. It also has four flats, which makes it evil.

I think they are a pretty good band, but I don't like them because of such a big deal everyone made out of them. People worshipped them. I remember a time when my sister knew what color tooth brushes they had. I also got had a negative view of them because it seemed like everyone who liked them was a girl. I hate it when a band's popularity is based (even partially) on their looks.

So, Miss Hanza, you considered comments and photos please... (any photos taken facing backwards may include some nerd-dude in a Bruce Springsteen t-shirt who answers to the name 'Janny'. )
