in the mines of moria scene when the fellowship is trying to escape, and they come to the gap in the bridge, who is the first to be thrown across?

How many staffs does Gandalf go through in the movies, and how does he loose the previous ones?

________________________________ Yes, this question's a bit tricksy, precious. One lost at Orthanc. Was another lost falling with the balrog in Moria? Hmm. Does he have three different staffs in the movies? Well, it's a reason to watch TTT again.

I think this counts as a trivia question. A while ago there was a discussion of seeing car headlights in FOTR when frodo and the fat hobbit are leavig the shire. I've watched it and in the scene I think I do see a possible light and smoke plume, but not where it's said to be by PJ in his commentary. Where is the "possible" carlight evident?

The place that it is supposed to be is when Frodo and Sam are about to enter the knee high corn field, by the scarecrow when Sam comments, "If I take one more step, it'll be the farthest away from home I've ever been" or at least that is where I believe it to have been. But Peter had them paint out the car and smoke and all that for the DVD so you would not be able to see it in your copy of the movie, trust me, I already tried to find it, not there.

Correct. Your turn. But when I look at the dvd, as it pans away, on the far right side, I think I see a twinkling light on the road. Unfortunately, the zoom control only enlarges the center area of the screen, not the far right, but I'm 79% sure I see "something."

On my dvd player I can zoom in and then pan with the arrows, try that.
next question: In Bree, when they are sitting in the inn, Sam says: "Than man's [Aragorn] done nothing but stare at you since we arrived," and Frodo stops Barliman and says, "excuse me, that man in the corner, who is he?" Barliman answers with, "He's one of them Rangers, dangerous folk they are, wander in the wilds, what his right name is, I've never heard, but 'round here, he's known as Strider." what is he holding in his hands?

sorry, but none of those are right either. I will give it a little longer and if no one gets it right then I will tell you and the next question will go to BJ since he got most of it right and first.

His sword (sheathed) was my second guess.
And if it's more than one thing, I say his sword and a pipe.
