I didn't even recognise Tom Cruise! I never realised it was him until I saw the credits!
If you haven't read the books, then the movie is amazing, but of course, the books are better.

IWtV is indeed one of my favorite drama's. I was impressed with the little girls performance.

Recommended movies...
Rosemary's Baby--disturbing

Not really horror, but indeed an interesting movie Wiked.

I contend with the Mothman Prophecies, although I found it abit predictable.

For a cheesy one with good make-up, Thirteen Ghosts. It gives you a cheap thrill, if you don't find the mistakes!

The Shining..."All work and no play makes" who? " a dull boy" --"Gimme the bat Wendy!!"

hmmm, I'll think of more in a while...for the life of me my mind has drawn a blank...

But the real question about Richard is, what's he do if he pulls the tail off?

The Lost Boys was an excellent Horror. Keifer Sutherland!

I loved the Hellraisers...the Cenobites were just so gross...*sigh*

and The Cube was good. Filmed nicely, and interesting ending.

Yay! Another person who likes the Cube. Wouldn't've considered it to be a horror, tho'.

Okay, now saw Bram Stoker's Dracula. Awesome movie. Really cool. I love Dracula. One story that almost irrevocably is more than just a horror movie. Yet another victory. Anthony Hopkins was really cool, and was Cary Elwes Arthur? Anywho, a really cool movie, a wonderful story. Being Christian, I loved the redemption at the end: Being obsessed with exorcisms, I loved all of the Catholic rituals, holy war, and incantations. Awesome movie.

my favourite horror movie as of yesterday is Brain Dead... it is one of Peter Jacksons cheap comedy/horror movies... i think it is really well done and great "effects" for such a cheap arse movie...
and he even set it in the 50's which surprised me as it would have been cheaper set in the 80's but anyway great movie

Hmm...my brother saw it, and he just hated it. He didn't think it was SUPPOSED to be comedy. He said an extremely stupid movie, and an excuse to fit as much blood and gore in as possible. And he LIKES blood and gore! He's described several quite cheesy parts in it, like a dog tail, monkey's arm, and flapping head, ninja-preacher guarding a grave getting impaled on a finger, and mating zombies kept as pets.

These are generally not classified as horror, but I found them terribly frightening:
The Labyrinth (with David Bowie)
The Dark Crystal (or something like that).
The second one has muppet-like puppets, very bizarre.

The Sphere with Sammy Jackson was really cool. I don't know if that's horror though.

You all know The Shining, but that's the best. I saw that, and I don't usually get scared, but Jack Nicholsan (or however you spell it) is so creepy.

Hannibal Lecter is really scary and Red Dragon was the best movie I've ever seen in the theatres.

And I don't care what anybody says James and the Giant Peach is a horror movie.

He sure is! He does really good in "bad guy" roles.

I TOTALLY agree.

Don't Look Now - gave me a red anorak phobia for life

The Innocents - truly chilling

The Thing - nasty

Blair Witch Project - well, I thought it was scary!

Alien - nerve shredding

The Devils Backbone - supernatural twist to the Spanish Civil War

The Exorcist - dated but still disturbing

The Wicker Man - very disturbing!!!

Bram Stokers Dracula - pure gothic eroticism

Dog Soldiers - fab low buget horror

American Werewolf in London - "Perhaps they'll be safe in the rain" ....er nope!

Okay, I have a new one to add: Shark Hunter. The creature of this feature is a Megalodon, a prehistoric shark (which, thanks to my olden prehistory obsession, I knew about ), though if I remember correctly, I believe they exagerrated the size, though not as much as one movie I read a bit about. I expected it to be one of those movies which sacrifice Quality for Size of Monster, but I was pleasantly surprised; though not as spectacularly put together as Long Time Dead, I thought it was rather well done, indeed.

nope i mentioned it a few pages back but i didnt think it was that bad... all my friends were **** scared but i wasnt too fazed... that was until they told me that that huge creepy leather face actually cut the chick when she was tied and gagged at the dinner table... something about it wasnt realistic enough or some crap and he thought ohh well shes gagged and he cut her... freak another funny thing in that movie, again for realistic purposes they didnt show the actors Leatherfaces masks until the shoot so the scene in the house where the guy absolutely shits himself is all real hehehehehe

Not really a "horror" but Arsenic and Old Lace was hilarious, with a bit of a horror twist.
