Indeed, but the words are very different (luckily some of them are pretty similar to English).

Månen vandrar sin tysta ban,

It's actually nice. But an effective way of making people hate things, is to make them listen to it all the time. In school. Every christmas. *puh*

When my group had to plan the christmas party, we wanted to leave out that poem. So instead, we read Sune's poem in Sunes jul. You know that one, Jonathan?

Man I wish I knew all these cool languages. All I really know is English. But I'm learning Japanese (and I had an exam today. I think I got everything right unless I made some sort of dumb mistake).

The translation of that is nothing like the other languages translations.

Two tigers, two tigers

Very…? Very…?
I can’t work out the last one, since I can’t see the characters, just the Pinyin (and without the tones at that). I don’t know what ‘quai’ is, it must be spelt wrong.

You do know that there are special elongated cookies that look like 1950's vacuum-cleaners, don't you? And they do not suck!

Aw, don't feel sorry, you just can't know all languages.
Vad?! Kan jag inte det?!? *Clutches her books/dictionaries/notes of German/Indonesian/Spanish/Italian/Chinese/Dutch/Japanese*
Thanks anyway, though. It just sucks that I can’t translate it due to shortage of good dictionaries online or in stores!

Well no language should be excluded, but I thought this was a thread for practising other languages and showing off with your abilities. JD, you can't show off with English and you can't really teach others to speak English since everyone already speaks it
Du har rätt!. Jag har bara sett dig skriva här på engelska, JD. Jag vill gärna se din svenska eller italienska! Parli Italiano? Avanti scriviamo!
And once again: The Lingua Franca does not count as a language.

English is a perfectly good language to use.

Well, what's the point of learning all those languages if you're not going to show off writing them?

You're making me dislike seeing my own beloved language! Grrr. Actually, you don't write in my language. Australienska är mycket bättre än amerikanska.

And then, what's the point of learning them if you can't use them or don't know how to pronounce the words correctly?

Well then I couldn't give you a hard time. I could get my Merde! book out and really say things - the censors and the mods and admins wouldn't even be able to censor the posts. Hmmmm - that gives me an idea.

Give me a hard time about what? I'd like to see you try. Plus we could get it translated, n'est ce pas?
Don't tell me you've only been learning the vulgar words of the language...like someone else here. Not anyone in particular, förstås.

It would be a little bit harder to get these translated - their idioms.

I've been learning the full language - but the vulgar terms are so much more fun.

Yes it is. Don't worry, I have my ways of getting them translated. I didn't get that Translator Dictionary Whatsit from Grey Wolf for nothing, you know.

I don't think Swedish vulgar words are that fun. Normal words are funnier. Bums! Prat!

Hey, JD, does the name 'Uno' seem funny to you?

I want to learn Japanese as well, but then again I want to learn every language I come across. So much to learn, so little time to learn it.

Min jul ska vara kul
min jul får inte vara ful
Som påsken den är gul,
ska min jul vara kul
Snön den ska vara vit,
och är den gul har någon pinkat på den
-kanske en hund

That is Swedish high-poetry, right? I can translate if anybody wants a translation.

Oh, please do. It's so bloody difficult.

Faen, I seem to have lost the words to that Spanish song my cousin taught me today.

my christmas will not be foul*
as Easter that is yellow
the snow shall be white
and is it yellow someone has pissed on it.
