GW, this should really make you proud to be an American:
http://belowthebeltway.com/2010/03/3...edical-care-2/ Discuss amongst yourselves and ask about the future of MootCare while you still have time!

Why anyone would want to be on a cruise with a bunch of orange fat orange Americans is beyond me.

They don't show the orange fat orange Americans on the brochure! People think they're getting into a magical world-within-a-world, populated by beautiful young heiresses and suave young entrepeneurs.
Having never been on a cruise, I don't know.

I think I'm biased. The one I went on was majorly middle-aged people, and if there were teenagers my age on the ship, they were the kind of kids who liked to go to the club-like dances held every night and bump and grind to rap music.
My dad told my brother and me to be careful because that was the kind of place where people who wanted to get into a gang would kill someone - black-people gang initiation involves something like throwing a white kid overboard on a cruise. We didn't listen to him, but there were more African American cruisers than I expected.

Yay! Easter! Time to break out my stash of Cadbury cream eggs, and the little bottle of champagne.

Mmm.. .Cadbury cream eggs. If you vote me president of Entmoot, I'll make sure we never run out of those.
While I'm single-handedly creaming the Rule, of course. For 25 more seconds. Seconds never seem so much like minutes as they do when the Rule is in play.

We could drop the "have something to celebrate" part. I'd totally vote for a "Champagne for all occasions" platform.

She's a.... well you know. She has a grudge against me anyway because I've hurt her pride several times.

OMG THAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE EVER READ!!! Hahahahhahahaaa! Sorry, but WTF? Heheheheee! Yeah... Real serious threat. The Bloods and Crips regularly go on expensive cruise ships with intent on throwing poor old vacationing white folk over board. Yeah... Totally happens. ALL THE TIME. Really? I mean really? He could've warned you about a slightly more probable threats happening like someone offering you booze. But black folk gang initiations? Ah... So silly. Yeah, see black people on a cruise and hold on tight to a life jacket... This is funny.

I was wondering about that . . . I know nothing about the inner workings of gangs, but it seemed pretty off the mark.

I figured it was one of them urban legends. Which reminds of me of a blog post somewhere on the internet in which the author suspected that squirrels have gangs too. So that that the only time you'll see squirrels on the road, right in front of your uncoming car, that's because those are young squirrels trying to join a squirrel gang. And for their initiation they have to show how tough they are by trying to face and sit still the longest in front of an approaching car.

Midge, I'm going out on a limb here, and assuming your dad was pulling your hairy unshaved leg? Right? RIGHT?
