Except that Tabrîl won't be anywhere near since we're discussing Mysteries.

Have you considered, Feawen, that while the shadow creatures may not be squirrels, they may be closely related, being rodents and such?

Nami has met the creatures already briefly, if I recall correctly. However this was in Dol Guldur and they passed her by rapidly in the dark, so she probably hadn't noticed their rodent-y looks yet.

Midge, a couple of posts ago (post #97), Radagast has asked Blossomshade if she could bring Tabrîl's plate to her, could you please reply on that?

Oh. Yeah.

Edit: Let me know if Blossomshade and I stepped on any toes there. (I tried to shorten her name by giving her "initials" and I think we'd tried that before, but decided against it for the same reason: Her initials would be "BS".)

And now we have Tabrîl on self-censorship, and just how far she considers modesty to be a virtue. She might be 'only a warrior' but that doesn't mean she doesn't want everyone to recognize just how awesome she is at warrior-stuff.

LOL, yes, she's very unlikely to be understanding of irrational fears of rodents.

Yeah... I guess in the end that Tabril must figure out what she's to watch for by picking up tidbits of other conversations, if she won't ask.

Well, it can't be said that Blossomshade didn't try to get her to.

Trouble is that she doesn't have much motivation to ask. When she scouts ahead it's about looking out for anything that might be dangerous to the group, not about helping with the quest, which she still doesn't much care about one way or the other.

Oh. I see. Well... then it probably will frustrate the rest of the group when Tabril is scouting ahead for danger and comes across one of the signs (like the three-spired rock, for instance) and doesn't really know it's important, so the company searches for a whole 'nother week and when they do finally find it, Tabril is going, "This place looks REALLY familiar..." As a matter of fact, I would laugh very loudly if that is what happened.

That would be funny.

Since I seem to keep forgetting this, who in the group can fight?

I know Tabril, Abasi, Redplate, orthil's king and the dwarf are fighters and Aelfwne has bowskill, but who else does?

Barufiniel is a good archer.
She has some basic skill with a dagger - but she's never used a sword.

Magor is a Rider and Aerin, while nursing a dislike for fighting, was trained for it in her Messenger training. A Messenger of the Lady would need to know how to defend herself and her message, after all. Blossomshade kind of has an advantage of brute strength in the whole.. being-an-Ent thing.

Do they have pickles in Middle-Earth?

Just wondering if they had that expression about "being in a pickle"... But I guess you're right... if it's edible, hobbits surely have discovered all the ways to cook it and make it the best tasting too!

And there I thought you were asking because you wanted one of your characters to suddenly reveal the jar of pickles they'd been saving.

I could... That would be interesting. It would be like Magor to have a jar stashed (his mother sent them with him before his last campaign and he's been saving them until the perfect moment). Or maybe Blossomshade runs across a nice treat in an abandoned hut.

Just for the record, I do not like pickles that much. I couldn't let an opportunity like that pass by untaken.
