OK - I had wondered about that (since it was his gift and he was a 'fallen' who went into a 'splash') - but I didn't remember about the leaves.

Guess I should explain. Leaves, as we know, usually take a (for ex.) yellowish color upon falling, but not the mellyrn leaves. And they weren't real, though they did look like it.

What Holiday Is It?

Pliant, flexible, limber and supple.
Seven years stand between
the times of import,
when all the hungry and pleasant
come out to vote.

I'm looking for the cultural name of the day. Not just in general.

I do not expect this one to be solved without hints. But have a go at first and see.

I think it is the Free Fair on the White Downs where the Mayor of the Shire was elected every seven years.

That is the day I speak of. But it isn't the holiday. That day occurs on another holiday, which has another name in the Shire. I'm looking for the other name. Pay attention to the whole riddle.

I knew this one right away. I have a Lithe riddle nearly ready. It goes on the back burner now...

Well, my rhyming is awful, I know, but here goes:

What is this?

The first is for the twinkling stars of Elbereth,
The second for Anor that shines overhead,
The third for Isil and his pale gleam
The fourth for the Trees that once had been
The fifth for the Heavens cold and steep
The sixth for the Powers that never sleep

I guess it is easy enough...

Slant rhyming isn't that bad.

I can't think of anything that has six parts. Is it ... like, six stars on the emblem of Gondor or something? Like the standard that Arwen sent Aragron?

Sorry, no.
But hurry up, lest Val comes down and solves the riddle immediately - it is his province.

There's a 'Riddling' and a 'Riddling continued' thread, so 'Riddling III' makes sense to me.

Three threads, my, I never really quite considered the volume of riddles that mooters have posted by now....
