That one needed a LOT of sugar!

Welcome, Starfish!

Watching RotK with my same friends today probably. I'm actually really excited. We've been watching the extended editions so there's scenes I haven't seen yet. And I'm not as worried as I was years ago about book/movie inconsistencies. I'm just enjoying them for what they are. (It helps that we're all talking through them so I can say "Don't you badmouth Faramir, he's not such a jerk in the books." and get it out of my system.)

Fingers are crossed for Jesse Eisenberg to get Best Actor, and King's Speech best picture, though I will accept Social Network as a fall-back. Please, Oscars, please . . .

My husband's been sick this week, so we watched the LOTR movies (extended versions) all the way through. He cracked me up - there was a new scene in the Houses of Healing and Aragorn was healing someone, and my husband comes out with, "Oh, yeah, that's right, Mr. I-Was-Raised-By-The-Elves-so-I-Have-Healing-Secrets..."

Ha, that's nothing. You should've heard the mockery and innuendo my friends and I came out with.

A lesson in life I have just learned, and should have learned from Bilbo a long time ago. Never spread yourself too thin; you cannot serve two masters and love them both. It will not end well.

Bah. Colin Firth was very good, but Eisenberg was absolutely brilliant, even if KS was a stronger film over all (which I'm only about 65% sure it was).

But of course, the British accents win out.

At least they both got screenplay awards. Both deserved them.

Hi all!

First of all, if I've caused anyone to feel angry or hurt by my Mootified songs and videos, I sincerely apologise. I will indeed think before I post from now on and there will not be any posts containing inappropriate material. That is a solemn promise.

Best to you all from your friend GW
