If they have lead in them too, I'm sure someone will suggest getting rid of them at some point.

What a shame! Maybe they can have the organists sign an acknowledgement of possible lead exposure

Oh and maybe do some homework for next semester...

CATION: Do not chew on the Organs.

So the boy scouts can use lead to do pine-wood derby cars, I can go fishing with lead weights, and churches can have old stained-glass windows, But Old famous musical instruments have to go... I mean, abestos, I could understand the concern.... but lead is everywhere!

VENT...

Why is it every kid thinks that they are going to be the one to change the world? I don't mean 'change the world' like, do something huge that influences the whole of society. I just mean they seem to think that they can alter the unspoken laws of the universe, things like, "Life is not a free ride," and "Life is not fair," and "When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade." When I was younger and people used to tell me things like this, I always thought to myself, "Yeah, well, maybe you gave into that kind of thinking, but it's not going to be like that for me. My life is going to be different; I'm going to do everything I dream of doing, life will bend to my will, etc." And now here I am, twenty years old, realizing that life is everything they said it was. Unfair, stupid, hard and mostly not worth it.
I'm going to shut up before I start screaming like a child.

Oie. I have been crying so much these last few days... I want this stupid music degree so bad, but I don't know if I can do it. Most of the singers I know are better than me--even a lot of the ones who started long after I did. All of the piano/organ students I know are -tons- better than me, even though I started first. And most of those kids are only 11-14.

What am I doing wrong? I practice the piano for hours every day till I can't even focus on the music any more, and my back always hurts now from sitting on the stupid piano bench.

I can't make progress with my voice either, because I have so much body tension. When I try to stand or lean over and relax my back, shoulders, and neck as much as I can it doesn't do any good--I can't even get my arms to 'hang loose'.

I always said that I would do this as long as I had to, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe that's a stupid idea and I should just give up if I don't make it in on this next audition.

Not give up entirely, I guess... although I'd probably take a month or two off. But maybe try to find something I'm good at and that I enjoy... although what I don't know, because I'm not very good at anything else either.

I'm sorry Tessar. But hey, cheer up. There will always be singers who are better than you. But that doesn't mean you can't convince the people at the audition that you're a good singer. The same thing about the piano. Try not to put yourself down by comparing yourself to the others, do your own race instead.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your next audition

I'm really ticked off to find out that Copernicus actually doesn't teach everything revolves around the sun. What the hell? I've believed that for these 21 years, and now...poof. Gone.

I ran across a couple of people today who are those strange people who seem to thrive on hate and anger, and if it's not there, they make it. I wonder what made them that way ... they sure are draining to be around. I have to remember to set some good boundaries when I'm around them.

Whew, words are powerful things! And not only words - non-verbal communication, too!!! Perhaps even more than words!!!
