At the moment Ive recommenced a translation of a Swedish chilren's book called Upptäcksresanden Karlsson (Carlsson the Explorer).

It is, obviously, about a guy called Carlsson who is an explorer.

In the first chapter, which Im translating now, Carlsson is Africa where he finds a thumbtack not long from his camp. He is then captured by cannibals and helps them get the joy back in their lives by "finding" their Strange Nail on which they invite their captives to sit on in order for them show their worth and not be eaten by the cannibals.

That's a rather strange story, Grey Wolf. How does that help them get the joy back in their lives?

I could use some hot chocolate right now.

GW, that thing sounds FABULOUS! I'm not just saying that because my name is Carlsson. Cool story!

On mother's day, my mother is way out of town celebrating her 10th wedding aniversary. Therefore, I'm visiting my dad instead.

GAAAR! Stupid car! I haven't even driven it yet and I owe $564 for repairs!

The missionaries whom they've captured of late have been awfully skinny, and not worth wasting spit on, therefore the king and the medicine man devices this test - the placing of the chair with the thumbtack behind the captive and the king invites him sit down and then the captive gets up in awful hurry and skips about and the tribe gets a good laugh and then they slaughter an oxe instead of eating the captive who's invited to the party.

Here's a link to the thread with the story so far (I try to add a page or two a day):

Heh, I like that tribe's sense of humor.

KITTY! Eh, that car is crap, from what you've told me, but I know a few GREAT mechanics that are more than reasonable. Only ones I trusted my car too.

*yawn*

Sorry I've not been around this week. Got a little, but not much, catching up to do...

Thanks for the avs, Earniel! I'll get right on using them.

And the constitution is being rewritten. The old one had too much detail and not enough explanation. And it called for too many committees, mostly redundant. This time around, I've included the Bill of Rights, or in this case, The Declaration of the Rights of Ent and Mootizen. Might be some time before completion, but it should be superior to the old one. Amendments will be easier to perform, too, and additions before ratification will be easier to edit in, as well.
