OH!!! I love you, I LOVE you, Tessar!!! Seriously I can NOT remember the last time I ever got a foot massage. Years... But massage very gently 'cause I'm serious, they are swollen painfully, you know when they hurt just to walk on at all or even touch yourself, or even wear socks on them? Like that! But I've stayed off them for a few hours so slowly the swellling's going down. I really wish I could afford to buy good work shoes, i own 2 pairs of shoes - my black leather work beasts which pulverise my feet, and my white K-Swiss sneakers which I've had for almost 2 years.

Where's Shah, anyway? ShahBella are you coming back online?

Good footwear indeed makes a world of difference when you have to stand up all day at work. The few days I helped out in the shop, my feet were killing me. But then again, I was also so stupid to wear a bit of heel when most of the time I wear flat shoes.

That's exactly what I did, I bought work shoes which have a bit of heel, and usually I only wear sandals or sneakers. And these damn work shoes with their brutal heel-chunk feel amazingly like lead-infused concrete inside, no matter how many cheeap shoe insert foam thingies I put in them they still end up feeling like being beaten on the bottoms of my feet every time I work for more than 4 hours in them.

Wicked beastly evil thngs...

Hardly. Most of them wouldn't want to be caught dead in our shop. They have to be dragged in unwillingly by their girl-friends. Funny though, since we do some lingerie as well...

The thing I find worse than the feeling in the evening that a ten-ton truck ran -repeatedly- over the soles of your feet, is the way the muscles in my feet are sore the day after, like they have been streched too far. Very annoying.

I managed to drown them in a hot tub with eucalyptus before they could finish the deed.

Sure, have plenty of it... pull up a peice of grass *Unpacks saddle bag outside, makes a fire and makes traditional turkish coffee*

Some people like a bit of cinnamon in it, want some?

*banks the fire to a low heat and pours Pytt some coffee*

Hey girls, mind if I pull up a mossy spot? No coffee, though, although it smells lovely. Tea for me.

Pumpkin muffin? Getting a jump on the season, but I'm kind of appled out.

Not at all my dear Sis, here, let me unroll a few carpets so we can get comfy cozy like.

*And a persian camp is brought into effect, with carpets and cushions arranged around the fire*

Tea it is then...*puts on another ghouri of oghab tea* its quite lovely, I think you'd classify this as a red tea, I wouldn't know, my knowledge on tea is woefully inadequate. Either way, it tastes good and releaves stress.

That's better. *stretching*

Pytt, I'm not sure we've met. I'm Sis. Or whatever. Lief calls me Earl, lol. I have some nice little fruit tarts here, apple and mixed berry, but there might be a cheese left. I'm in a pastry phase, so no risen cakes right now, sorry.

(and I ate all the chocolate yesterday. )

Don't think I've had the pleasure, no. It's been a while since I last strolled by here. It is very nice to meet you. Why Earl? :P Yes, a fruit tart would be most welcome!

Has anyone here ever seen a lecture or speech given by Michael Parenti, or a video thereof?
He's so awesome! If only I could organize my thoughts so well.
Ironically, my newest orator-role-model is the 17th century Rev. Jonathan Edwards, whose six-hour speeches about the fire and brimstone perils of sinners and the (almost) merciless God were said to cause people to faint, cry out in terror, or raise from their seats in hysteria.
Not exactly my view on God, but a very powerful speaker nevertheless. I've certainly got a long way to go before my speeches cause riots, but I'm working on the old "stare the bell rope in two" trick. For the first Brendonianist meeting, I've prepared a short speech on "How to Change Your Mind On Capitalism In Less Than Two Minutes" based on Parenti's lecture "Terrorism, Globalization, and Conspiracy." Though I can neither cause screams of terror and mass conversions like Edwards, or convince people rationally like Parenti, I'm working on some sort of in-between level.

Hey, all you cooly international types, here.

Tell me the greatest things about visiting in your area.

I live in a village, which is not particularly exciting, in and of itself, although it's a swell place to be. But I'm near some really lovely and uncrowded beaches and close to Philadelphia, which has some great art, and ethnic neighborhoods. Birders love the mid-Atlantic flyway. There are lovely estate gardens nearby, too. If you came as a tourist, I'd hope you were interested in American colonial history, but I could get you a weeks worth of entertainment without that.

*Leans back contentedly with Sane's red tea.* yum. Your turn.
