Seen the musical episode, which was brilliant.

Anne Rice is quite nice, actually. At least the three I've read (Interview, The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned).

I have those, plus Body Snatcher. I'm working through Interview (and still Literary Converts, not to mention readings for six classes, one of which requires approximately a book a week). Unfortunately, Interview is broken up in such a way that one really has to just sit down and read for a good long while, making it difficult to find the time.

Indeed. That is the 'circumspect Penelope' I refer to, for she is often called such, at least in the Fagles translation. (Of course, everyone carefully pronounces that "fay" not "fa").

De Officiis by Cicero. I liked it alot. I'm tempted to read more Cicero, but I've enough extra-curricular reading as it is. Finish interview with a Vampire, read the next three, re-read Dorian Gray, and read the Kalevala.

And one or two boring books.

1) How the West Was Won Through Psycho-Analytical Hacks Like Me-Freud-Who Further Found Out That Everything is Connected Sexually, Be It The Mere Connection of Perverted Jokes etc.

2) How dog drool affects our economy

A friend has been reading Freud and talking to me about it; I'll read it eventually. I'm talking about the more immediate list, not the great big monster-list from the Seventh Level of Hell that feeds and grows the more I read.

The two boring books are The Mass and Modernity, by an Oratorian priest (something Robinson, I think), about how the modern Catholic Mass has been affected by the Modernist philosophers, and the Spirit of the Liturgy by HH Benedict XVI (back when he was Cardinal Ratzinger).

But seriously, On Duties is very good. Cicero rocks.

Finished Interview with the Vampire. It's one of those books that I am unsure how to describe. Very...effective. Whether good, or bad, I'm not sure. When I left the dorm after finishing it, I looked around at the people going around their lives, and I wondered, "Why?" Not even sure why what. Just very disjointed ramblings here.

Just started The Historian...didn't realise it was about Dracula. See that's what you get for reading the first page rather than the blurbs!

Still...it's written in a historical novel way, so hoping it'll be good!

I finally read The Tale of Two Cities...a really good book. Dickens did a great job of painting the French Revolution!

A Walk Across America - by Peter Jenkins.

It's sort of a classic of the 1970's - a travel journal of a young man who set out to see if there was anything good about America - by attempting to walk it (true story).

Finished The Giver...an interesting novel. I loved the ending of the book! Very symbolic! Highly recommended!

I loved how the author kept the premise of the story (one man being the emotions of a people) secret by not mentioning memories. Because of that, we assume that they experience emotion-when they don't!
