If you start throwing this "I have you under my control" stuff around, I will be forced to assume that you intend to provoke a war. I say it a third time, NO more war in the Teacup, please.

What Is It Good For?

War!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing.
War is something that I despise,
For it means destruction of innocent lives;
For it means tears in thousands of mothers' eyes
When their sons go out to fight to give their lives.

War!!
It's nothing but a heartbreaker.
War!
Friend only to the undertaker.
War is the enemy of all mankind;
The thought of war blows my mind.
Handed down from generation to generation;
Induction, destruction,
Who wants to die?!?

War has shattered many young men's dreams,
Made them disabled, bitter and mean.
Life is too precious to be fighting wars
each day.
War can't give life, it can only take it away!

War.
It's nothing but a heartbreaker!
War!
Friend only to the undertaker.
Peace, love and understanding;
There must be some place for these things today.
They say we must fight to keep our freedom,
But Lord, there's gotta be a better way
That's better than
War!

War!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing!
Say it again,
War!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing.

-Edwin Starr, 1970

My dear, deluded child - slavery, fascism, nazism and communism are still very much alive in this world; war has not changed that fact a bit. The only exception is Nazism, but still there's a grip of skinheads and neo-nazis all over the planet, so I guess even that is not a case solved.

Who is Marvin? I have no idea who you're talking about.

BTW, you shouldn't quote bumper stickers - oh wait, forgot you were a redneck! My bad.

Ah yes!! I never read the book, just saw that movie last week and really loved it. Yes, I'm afraid I'm suffering from a little Marvinism and Eeyore-ism today, but why even bother mentioning it, nobody cares.

No, I only have Mickey's in the fridge tonight, and I don't feel like drinking beer anyway. I don't like beer. At least, I don't THINK I like beer, or - do I? Self-doubt and indecision paralyses me.
