Mothers' Day was awful - had a huge flaming row with my husband, ended up sitting in my car parked at a Kmart. And my husband and the two youngest didn't even remember the day - usually they do the whole breakfast thing with flowers n' all. But my daughter had been on a choir trip and got back at 5 am Sunday, and my husband picked her up, and my middle son had a sleepover for his bday, so I can understand. And they are usually very nice about Mothers' Day. But the awful thing was the fight with my husband - just wiped me out. We're going to talk it out, but I've been too upset and fatigued to do it.

The two nice things were that after the fight, when I was in the garage getting into the car, my daughter came into the garage and gave me a big hug. She's not the touchy type, so that was really nice. And my oldest son, when we were at church, gave me the nicest smile and hug when they mentioned Mothers' Day - he's pretty quiet, too, and it was just really nice. And then he bought me the new Switchfoot CD

I know we'll be able to talk it out, but it's been so awful the last 4 years since we moved to Arizona, and my husband has had so much pressure on him from work and from his family collapsing and he's the only steady one. I know he's a great guy, but all his issues are coming out in spades with all this pressure, and it comes out against me and the kids, and it's really hard. I look at pictures from right before we moved, and I look 10 years younger, and it's only been 4 years

Stupid sucky day

*gives RÃ*an a well-deserved hug*

Pressure within families is... not nice. Not nice at all. Tough. Draining. I know the feeling, wish I didn't.

Hang in there.

*hugs back*

Thanks - it's been pretty rough these last 4 years. But we are still incredibly blessed, compared with so many families. And he is really a good guy - it's just that he's the eldest son, and feels a lot of responsibility for his family, and they are all going thru multiple horrible stuff. But he has to stop taking it out on us - he needs to look at the issues that this stuff is bringing up and deal with them, instead of avoiding them and just venting on us.

The latest was that his sister, who is now the sole breadwinner in her family since her alcoholic husband had his car accident and subsequent fall in addition to diabetes, lost her job. And this is on top of her serious clinical depression with multiple shock treatments. But the good news is that she just got another job, and it pays more, and is closer, and looks like it will be less pressure, too, so I think it was a blessing in disguise.

*more hugs for Ryan* Hang in there. I'm sorry your Mother's Day was so rough... it makes it extra hard when it's supposed to be a 'special' day and something goes wrong.

I hate having to smile and say "thank you very much" to people who screwed me over big time, just because I need them.

I know the feeling, Mari. Sorry to hear you're having to deal with that.

Work is really stressing me out right now. I don't want to go into the details (it'd be a considerable rant) but sometimes I wish I could just have a job where I file paperwork in a basement all day and never have to deal with any people.

Thanks. I just won't make them going-away cake when I don't need them anymore and can leave. So there. And they'd better give me a nice bouquet of flowers! >_<

Well I feel like a dumbass.

We were trying to rehearse the hymn setting briefly this evening, and I just about had a meltdown. I don't know why, but nothing sounded right, and my friend and I were both struggling to sing the hymn. I didn't even want to listen to the recordings we did because I was convinced that I sounded like crap.

I was trying to be calm and keep it all on the inside, but I think everyone saw that I was getting really angry and frustrated with my singing. They kept saying that the hymn sounded great, and I thought they were just being nice... but now that I'm at home and I've listened to the recordings... we actually did sound pretty great.

But we scrapped the hymn and we're going to sing something else. I'm kind of glad because I loved the hymn but for some reason it was not comfortable in my voice.

Well my dad's lost his job and my boyfriend is potentially moving to another city because he's having trouble getting enough students (he's a violin instructor) here.

He and I have been dating for a little over five months now and I was just thinking this last week that not only is he one of the nicest people I've ever met, but that he's one of only two people in my personal life that I really trust to love and support me. And now I think he might be leaving.

This week sucks.
