I watched "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" last night, and really got into it. If you guys haven't seen it before, I recommend it as a rental. Tennesse Williams was such a brilliant writer, and Elizabeth Taylor & Burl Ives were riveting, and Paul Newman - what eye candy!! Killer flick...

Today I saw 'The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp', which I've been wanting to see for ages. It's such a great film from such unpromising subject matter! Superbly constructed, original, well-written and intelligent, but with a kind of sentimental centre. Another Powell and Pressburger masterpiece. I'm also a little bit in love with the main character now (in his younger incarnation)...

Is that a new film, or one that I could rent?

Probably not... It was made in 1943 (when Churchill tried to ban it - useful trivia )

Psycho by Hitchcock

Man, creepy stuff. First time I saw it. Pretty weird, and scary. But very good!

If you liked that, try to catch the original Haunting of Hill House. It's far scarier than that or it's remake.

I HATED that ridiculous, stupid movie!! Who on EARTH was that unbelieveably absurd wanna-be "actor' in the title role? Oliver Stone has REALLY, really, really gone nuts and finally lost his magical artistic touch. Alexander was by FAR one of the worst films I have seen this year, by FAR. Ugh.

I thought Val Kilmer and Angelina Jolie were the only good things about that movie.

Dr. Strangelove. What a terrific Stanley Kubrick classic, and George C. Scott & Peter Sellars were both riveting, of course. This film was... the BOMB!! *snickersnurkle*

Ah yes.. Strangelove!

I went the other way and watched George C. Scott & Kirk Douglas in the cold-war political paranoia thriller Seven Days in MAy which is about a military takeover of the United States government. Its a bit dated because public information distribution these days isn't limited to ABC, NBC, & CBS. Also... well, I dont want to give anything away...

Anyone seen the new Oliver Twist? I love Dickens, but am wary of film versions.

I have GOT to get Dr. Strangelove! I've tried before, but it's been out

I heard it was an extremely poor adaptation. (It got 2 stars)
