I'm on spring break too but I still have to work every day next week. *pouts* And when I am on spring break from work I'll still have to go to class. But, I'm still happy because I like work and school, and I made cookies today! And I want a bamboo steamer.

With all this wedding and marriage planning, I have realized that I like it when decisions are made and I know what to do. The longer a decision is put off, the more I don't care about the result, I think, unless it is something I care deeply about. However, it is a good thing to know that I like having decisions made.

On such a lovely Sunday evening, I am filled with hope (despite the odds) that not only will everything turn out okay, things just might be pretty epic. Word.

Easter holidays at last! And on Wednesday I'm off for a longed-for three-day vacation in Amsterdam. Canals and Rijksmuseum, here I come!
It will also be fun to discover whether it's true what Jacques Brel in melancholic wordings sing about the decadent living of the sailors in the city port

I shamefacedly confess that my exposure to Jacques Brel is limited to Ne me quitte pas. That's what happens when you're from the US.

Hey, I'm overjoyed by the fact that you even know his name

As good a reason as any?
Well, I did mention the canals and Rijksmuseum too I could also throw in some van Gogh, an East Indiaman, Anne Frank's house and whatnot.

Very cultural of you.
Will you be visiting the Allard Pierson museum? I haven't been there myself but they're said to have quite a good archaeology collection.

I know of the museum but will most likely not pay a visit this time, due to time constraints. And my friends aren't as interested in archaeology as I am
Very cultural, isn't it?. I'm the one who'll end up trying to direct the rest of the company to the finer sides of Amsterdam, so they're not instantly caught up in the more decadent aspects

WHOOHOOOOO!!! THIRD PLACE WINNER!!!!!!!!
I took third at the vocal competition today! It's not the BIG competition, that happens in the Fall, but it's the first time I've ever made the finals at anything. I am SO happy!!! |

WHOA!!! Happy Day!! I went from feeling totally crappy yesterday, and my voice still being in horrible, horrible shape, to today being slightly improved!! I'm not as stuffed up, I'm not coughing as much or as violently (although it's still quite a bit ), my chest doesn't hurt as much when I cough, and I can actually sing a tiiiiny bit. I also have a little bit of falsetto, which is a -great- sign. My voice doesn't flip straight from chest into whistle voice.
HOORAY!!! I thought this was going to last days and days more, and take forever to recover from. But if I keep up at this rate of recovery then I should be right as rain in just a few days! |

That's good news, Tessar!
Even small improvements are happy events when they are not expected!

Whew! Isn't it great when burdens go away?
My fiance and I closed on our house today! I don't have to worry about any more calls from lenders or realtors and I don't have to take time out of my schedule to accommodate a loan company or such! Yay! I'm a 'omeowner!
