Here are some pics of my mountain in the clouds. In Japan I lived on top of a mountain at the universities dormitory. Because we were next to a bay, we often had these cloudy days.

This is the same spot at sunrise.
I took this picture in Okinawa and it's one of my favorites. I use it as background when I'm in the mood for it At a Japanese shrine. I have a lot of pictures from Japan, but I won't throw them all at you. There must be around a 1000!

Cottonmouth1 Cottonmouth2 Here's a tiny green snake we found. Green Snake I thought that this pic looked cool. It looks like the horses legs are on fire. Horse And here's a funny little pic of a Margarita snail and a tiny tube worm. This is in my tank. Snail

So the monks maintaining it can get money from the entrancefees...
They were used for meditation and are thought off as symbols of enlightenment and showing the path to enlightenment. Also they are thought of as pure somehow. Every garden has a different number of stones, but the placement of patterns is always the same. I'm sorry, I don't know how to explain it well. They are different, but in a different way they are all the same. Also sometimes it is said that the gravel represents water the moss islands and the rocks mountains.

Oh, those are so cool, thanks.
I definitely also like that wooden gate, with the inlaid stone floor. I have a thing for such structures for some reason. I dunno why but it strikes a chord with me.

I love the top picture. It's hilarious!
In Japanese it doesn't say that you will be boiled, they only ask you not to enter the pond.

Cool looking. Have you been in there yourself, Mari? Did it smell or taste sulfur-y? I ask this not because of the nick-name ' the hell', mind you, just out of geological interest.

It depended a bit on the minerals mixed in with the water, but generally the whole area smelled like sulfur. The entire city was build on a volcano (or near, whatever) and especially in the Kannawa-district which is higher up the mountain, they have special manholes for the smoke to escape through. The entire district permanently smelled like it.
Sometimes when the wind was right, we would even smell it on top of our mountain. Hot springs are really very nice Especially the very hot ones. You burn off your outer nerves, but it feels great!
