I would say that Udu would have tolerated the Easterlings when they all served together under the banner of Mordor. Being a man of Numenor, he would always consider that they were not far removed from savages. The only reason he was in the East to begin with was that he fled after the War of Second Alliance, and fought for the property and possessions of a warlord. He has become more easternized of late, though, since he has taken all of his conquered foes' wives as his own. Travel is so broadening. So maybe he has mellowed towards Lilly and Pengolod. Glad there were no problems with Orrodel. |

Just on for a brief few minutes, stealing time on a computer, but I had 2 say - Shah and Udu, just read your last posts and WOW!! I love them both. Yes, Udu, I think you're depicting Orrodel just perfectly. Shah, GREAT dialogue w/ Marty & Ray; Udu, GREAT portrayal of Udu's general attitude and character, the nonchalant way he gets into Orrodel, steps over the stricken maid, and casually greets Lil & Pen while drinking their booze - PERFECT! Everyone else, I still gotta catch up reading - Rian, gonna read yours next - it's a doozy! Long post. I only have a couple minutes right now, so off I go to the Nazgul story page 2 read...

Woot, you are on! I cross posted with you, so there are some incogruities with my posts... How can we smooth that out?

Ciao, Shah! I think they pretty much jibe just fine. Maybe a word or two is off in the dialogue between Viv & Ray when she asks him to dance With her or whatever, but both our posts seem to mesh just right, to me. Which incongruities were you thinking about?
Gordis - loved your last post, awesome! Aiwendis feels so vulnerable, to me. I can really sense Aiwendis' aloneness, and her futile emotional dependence upon Ilmenzor is beautiful, yet heartbreaking. She feels strong, yet immensely fragile, to me. Valandil - Your post from yesterday was so informative, I like that! I liked all the descriptions of the foods, and where the various styles of cooking came from, and stuff like that. I was wondering who would describe the meal; I was thinking about it yesterday. BB - so, Constable BB has a young wife! Good 4 him! I loved that post, BB; loved the fog, too. It feels right, for this evening in Tharbad to have developed a fog. Adds to the shroud of mystery & drunken intrigue... Willow Oran - Greeat dialogue between Mahtaliel & Chancellor, VERY easy to read. I can distinctly feel the professional relationship between them. I love reading great dialogue (I love being able to write it, too, whenever I can; it is NOT as easy as it looks is it?) because great dialogue is what paints the story and puts the feel of the characters into the reader's mind & heart. Nothing beats successful dialogue; I mean, I really aspire to constantly trying to improve this particular area in my OWN writing, whatever I write. Grey Wolf - Cool beans with the wolves. What are they up to, anyway? What's that deserted building that Old Grey & White Patch are sneaking into? If I had the TIME, I'd post a bit of Lomi stuff, wherein she could chat up the wolves and get the skinny on what's going on in the animal world there. Earniel - loved the bit showing us the fountain outside, and the eerie feeling Earniel was getting. I could even hear the fountain noises in my mind's ear, nice. Rian - I like how you include the poetry excerpts; is that Browning again? I picked up on that myself, from you, and put an excerpt from a W.B. Yeats poem in my own post; it's a little thing Ray says to Viv to cheer her up & to let her know HE knows she's feeling frustratedly angry. Your posts are very feminine, and so chock full of Elven family stories & family history - nice!! Hey you guys - so, that love potion, is that like heavy-duty liquid Viagra, or what? The sword-hilt thing is a riot. Is Val gonna fall for Aiwendis, or is her spell gonna backfire and end up working to Earniel's advantage instead? The plot thickens...

I kinow I'm breaking my own proposed idea, but I got a chance 2 write for 5 minutes in my boyfriend's office just now, on his computer, so I grabbed it. Hope you guys don't mind. Anyway, tomorrow I have to work all day, so I can't come back 'til like 3:30 or so, and then just for a sec. Soon, us Nazgul will largely be fortuitously assembled at Orrodel, for a confused ruckus kind of violent group argument, then we're gonna have to figure out what to do with the poor stricken servant-girl wilting in the kitchen. Should we put her out of her misery, and hide our crime, or should we pretend she's got the fluy or something, and let Rian take care of her when she gets back from the reception? Anything goes, huh. Well, gotta go 4 now - my freakin' boyfriend is yammering at me to get off his computer - C U all tomorrow!

Thank you! Udu is distinctly cool towards mortals, both hating and desiring their blood. (Yes, he can be attached to some mortals, but it takes a long time.) Usually, I can only get to Entmoot after 6 PM. Weekends are the exception. If CS or TD or Gordis or you, Lotesse, or anyone connected in the same area of Udu, feel free to include him in your posts. I can trust you to mind him while I am not here, and that none of you will do anything like out of character with him, like have him go skinny dipping in the river. |

Pie throwing
yes, as Rian says ... it was made very clear it is the cook (the Chef)
that a) NO! it is NOT some Laurel and hardy custard pie fest where all get splattered. b) the tradition is for new professors only and THEY (the proffessors) throw the pies at the Chef ( GOR: that's CHEF not CHIEF: he's the cook, and is honoured by the tradition) Thus as Willow says it fits the setting, is a tradition such as many medieveal universities have that would make little sense to us today, and should not i any way impact on anyone's character: so i fail to see where that comes in??? You could make it a statue in the cloisters, and see who gets the closest to its head etc ... if you wanted ... kinda a robin hood arrow contest scene ... well, yeah place a thingy for me, ta gor ..still not too well .... and grumpy to boot |

Gordis - I think that Rian is not quite done with me yet, but I WILL dance with you again at the conclusion of the evening.
You seem to be hinting that Valandil did not get to dance with Earniel. Earniel - shall we catch one another out in the garden after the others have left... and have our own little dance?

Great posts, ALL!
Udu,, I shall try to continue about Lilly this evening. Sorry, no time now. What shall we do with poor Melwen? Throw her in a well? I don't think she is worth healing... Or do you propose something "unnatural"? Like turning her into a wraith? Last edited by CrazySquirrel : 10-21-2005 at 09:42 AM. |

It would be most suspicious if she died or became wraithed, seeing as she is Zimra's cousin...and Zimra has had some odd encounters with the masters and mistresses of the house. Also that Rian should take care of her, might prove odd, as i think she would know what the black breath is. The only thing I can think of that wouldn't stir alarm is for penny to do something, being the resident nazgullian healer.

Val - could we change it to Rian and Val are on their second dance? I don't think the King's advisors or the Chancellor would allow more than 2 dances in a row without some type of comment.
I loved your first post on our dance - really set a nice tone describing all the things we talked about - it really seemed to make them click Shah - I think you're right, maybe Penny fixing her up is the best idea. I don't really want Rian to find her for some reason - I don't really know what she would do

Hey guys, check out my latest post - I was going to make a fake Elvish entymology for "nookie" (which just cracked me up when Shah used it!) and I about fell off my chair when I found roots for "No-" (begat) and "kay-" (lie down) I mean, what are the chances of even ONE working out, and they BOTH do!!!

Val, Rian and Earniel I can always change the end of my last post #332, making Aiwendis look for the King and see him with Rian. Then she can make the desired comment. And sure, Vall is free to go and look for Earniel in the garden, if he manages to get past waiting Aiwendis. He can tell her he needed air and promise the last dance. But Aiwendis will most probably follow (invisible?) Quote:
Re: Viagra. Yes the first effect (24 hours) of the Number Nine Love potion is alike to Viagra. But in a day, it transforms into Pure, Unselfich, Romantic, Eternal Love for the person who added her blood to the potion, Aiwendis in our case. That is if the Potion works properly. . Perhaps with all this external meddling with it, it will continue working as Viagra, and Vall will chase all the women around. Re: What to do with Melwen? I don't know. I don't think healing her is a very good idea, didn't she see the burning and disappearing frying pan? I think the best idea is to throw her into the Gwathlo. Maybe Udu or CS can give a better counsil? |

Earniel, If you want him, take him.
Val can always turn Aiwendis down and take you for a walk in the garden, or even for a dance (if he lies that you have promised him one) Rian: loved your last post! "Nookie" is hilarious! So it means something like "to lie down for begetting"? Very explicit. Last edited by Gordis : 10-21-2005 at 02:53 PM. |
