I am seriously freaked-out-excited because I made a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE vocal breakthrough without realizing it. When I was singing that "hopelessly devoted" clip, I was like, "Oh man, I haven't warmed up, and I'm being too chesty--it's gonna be all thick sounding and I'll be wildly off pitch." But to my surprise it sounded pretty okay. Then on Sunday I was like, "Hey, maybe I should try that again, since it seemed to work so well for the clip." And my voice just POPPED, once I started doing it that way intentionally. I sang ALL DAY without a single tiny inkling of vocal strain or fatigue, and I nailed every single high note with more accuracy than ever before. And now, recording myself again... my voice doesn't sound -too- different than it ever has, but I'm able to DO stuff now! Like phrases that I struggled with are suddenly effortless so long as I do it with the new 'technique' I discovered. Also my voice is a lot fuller on the top notes, instead of thinning out like it was up till the other day. I've also -always- had trouble controlling my voice at all when I try to play piano and sing at the same time, but now it's effortless to sing the songs, so I can turn my focus to the piano playing and I sound better than I ever did before. I was thinking about pink bows but I want to keep it all white so it would match anything. For example, I'm thinking about maybe doing an Alice in Wonderland thing for Halloween and that would be blue. And would not look right with pink bows. I could make detachable ones though. ^_^
