vent - selfish, angry party-poopers that try to ruin things for others ...

BUT - they can't stop the party - party on!

(and it hurts them more than the rest of us, anyway)

Do you even know how MANY car accidents, or pedestrian injuries, happen every year from peolpe sailing through stop signs with total disregard for the sign? Look, I have no love for cops either, but that cop you got ticketed by had very valid points and had EVERY RIGHT to give you a ticket and a talking-to. You've got a long life ahead of you; you'll get it as you get older! I mean, sometimes you gotta pay 2 play. Sometimes when a person gambles with the rules, they lose a hand here & there. Just be stoked you only got a ticket.
Wel-l-l *trying to remain neutral--smile and wave...smile and wave...*, at least that's not as bad as my Grandma is. Says she doesn't deserve the ticket she got, when she was speeding on the street, and we're talking twenty five miles over the speed limit. Finally, she got what was coming, after forty years of flashing her Culver City PD badge and getting a pat on the back afterwards. Serves her right!

But also, more recently, something that doesn't serve her right. She broke her rib on monday. She's at home, and luckily we are NOT HAVING ANY OF THE PROBLEMS WE HAD WITH HER BEFORE DESPITE THE FACT SHE IS OTHERWISE IN GREAT HEALTH AND TALKS UP A STORM. I think the fall was for the best, if you don't count the healing process.

That's bad news, but you're right: it might turn out to be a good situation. I always think it's funny talking with old people. How did she break it?

The stop sign had no business there. If it said "slow" like it should have, I would have been OK.

Since then, BTW, I've been taking an alternate route to school, at the pig's advice (not really that resentful of him; I just like the 70's cop nicknames. "Run dude, it's the fuzz!"). Anyway, twice in a row I was delayed 5-10 minutes by a train and made late. So I'm taking my old route over the RR tracks again anyway, which is why I was in that lavishly signed neighborhood in the first place. Otherwise I'll have to take a detention after one more late or possibly change my morning routine. No way.

Well, I would be wrong to say that she slipped, but rather, the mat in the shower slid out from underneath her. The only thing breaking her fall was the edge of the tub, the toilet, and, my favorite, a hard, tile floor. At least now she has a legit excuse for being helpless. She used to take advantage of us by saying all these large amounts of work were "favors," even though we had to do them, she was perfectly capable of doing them, and she would critique us on every single thing we did. And apparently, it's over. And one thing's for sure: she won't be hovering over my shoulder when I fill the water bottles.

Actually that was a license plate in a movie; Transylvania ....something....I got the plate for myself but three months later the DMV caught up with me and said that the phrase was inappropriate and I had to surrender the plate and chose a new one.

Is it just me, or does it seem like that ^ was something in the middle of a conversation that hasn't been taking place...?

You can say that again. I have an awful cold, plus they tortured us with the most excruciating exercises--well, they were'tn at the time, but they sure are now.

Find what? *sniffle* Well, at least I'll get back into my tea-drinking habit. I would so like to stay home tomorrow, but I can't. Got to keep going because I want perfect attendance. And the worst part is that I am the one who wants to keep the record no matter what.
