Are you saying, basically, that the war is going at all badly? Because if so, read the news . We've only been at war for slightly over two weeks, and we've conquered more than half of Iraq. We've been able to take thousands of prisoners and have conducted an incredibly humane invasion. At the same time we have crushed all the units that have opposed us, and we have lost very, very few casualties in comparison with previous wars. Are you really saying that you think this war is going badly?

Because - it's a question that we would like answered. Also - if he is dead - then the Iraqi government is most likely in complete disarray - even though they are trying to act in control. There were very few people that Hussein trusted - is there enough of the government together to bring about an offensive attack if Hussein was still leading.

I did not contract myself. I'm saying that for the Iraqi government to CONTNUE fight on - they don't need Hussein alive - they just need to use his image.

They're doing a pretty wimpy job so far of portraying his image. Did you know that in one of his speeches he actually complimented for bravery a general who, a couple days ago, had surrendered to coaltion troops?

We can't answer it.......so the discussion is moot

Just because we can't answer it - doesn't make it a moot point. The fact of him being alive or not still has an affect on this war.

Also - the reason why I posted that conversion in here concerning whether Hussein was dead or not - was because I knew the thread would be closed. Now it is linked in - and those wishing to continue the discussion of whether Hussein is alive or not can continue on. If you think it's a moot point then you have a choice not to discuss it.

By all means........carry on

Can't see the point of discussing it without facts personally........but each to their own

Oh well, it filled a couple of minutes in anyway...
I think JD was just trying to be helpful there. As I said before, there is no reason to have so many threads that are related to one topic. I said in my last warning of this thread that all new threads concerning this would be closed. That all disussion on Saddam, or concerning the war would be confined to one thread. That is I believe what he was trying to do. If you hadn't noticed, the other thread was closed.

The Senate just unanimously approved the $80 billion war budget. The vote was 93 - 0.
