Yeah, it's the same here. The insurance company is going to look at the car next week. We'll see what they have to say then. I hope this guy will be more cooperative than the one you complained about before!
My parents are still sore and that's only slowly healing, unfortunately. They've got rather colourful bruises thanks to the saftey belts. Everything still hurts with every cough. And there is still a lot of coughing going on. Darn inconvenient cold.

Not nice. I hope you'll get at least some money for the car.

Oh no, I'm sorry Earniel.
I just spent three freaking hours doing a piece of homework that should've taken me 30 minutes because I misunderstood one freaking thing. One tiny, freaking number that threw off everything else... For three #($@)ing hours. I just lost an entire evening of study and I have two mid-terms on Wendesday and two on Friday. That's all. Just popping in to vent because I feel like I'm going to throw up I'm so angry. ARGH. |

Thanks all. I'd pass on the hugs, but I think I'd have to do that very carefully.
(Just got home from a visit to the vet's, dad's cat had a small brain haemmorrhage during the weekend which wrecked his balance, luckily the vet thinks he should make a full recovery but it is going to take several weeks. Yeah, it never stops. ) Good luck with your mid-terms, Tessar.

Big earthquake in Japan causes a tsunami
We had a scare here on the east coast of Taiwan- classes cancelled, stores shut- but it was already small- about 1meter- when it passed us, about half an hour ago- 5:30 Friday evening local time.

Thanks be to God its epicenter was off shore; the thought of how many deaths an earthquake that size could cause in the middle of a city sends shivers up my spine.

Well, the tsunami pretty much did its job too.
I'm so worried...

Students... ARGH! *rips hair out*
Out the window went my wonderful fun lesson. I'm starting to think that not my definition of fun is different from that of my students, but just me being in front of them makes it not fun.

Know the feeling...IIRC you're dealing with young teenagers, yeah?
They're absolutely too cool to have fun- and you can't teach them anything anyway because they already know everything . Especially about that totally new and secret thing they've just discovered that nobody before them has ever heard of....

I have to go back to school tomorrow. Back to major studying and less internet time, plus my mid-term on Tuesday.
........... but on the plus side we haven't had an earthquake, I'm not hungry and homeless, and our nuclear reactors aren't melting down, so I suppose I can see dragging myself to school tomorrow...... >.> |

Went with a friend to pray at the AIDS memorial tonight. Such a powerful experience. So many victims. Makes me so sad.

So, we've managed to get ourselves another car, with some effort and a lot of time. (Half of the cars available were the wrong fuel type and the rest either had too much kilometers or was sold within a day or two. Never knew that model was so sought after.) Dude selling it was... off, everything seemed perfectly in order paper-wise but his behaviour and the things he said... kind of made us wanting to put a wheel-clam on the new car for a while just in case. Which kinda puts a damper on the whole thing.
The cat still isn't well. Listless, sleeps 24/7, doesn't eat well and his head's still askew. Not so sure he's going to make a full recovery anymore. Just hope the vet isn't going to propose the way of expensive examinations that ultimately doesn't even tell you what's wrong with him. At least my parents are slowly getting better. And my antibiotics course worked so after a month or so this flu/cold/whatever is finally getting better, but it's really dragging his heels on the way out. And I fear the onset of hayfever season is catching up with me unaware... Oh and on top of all that, we had a botched break-in and robbery at the house. Botched because the idiots failed to spot the car on the driveway, indicating people were still at home so they ran as soon as they spotted my parents through the kitchen window, which resulted in them crashing through our driveway gate and smashing it in pieces on the ground. Dad got the 'honour' of being able to keep up with a thief forty years his junior which then got turned over to the police. But the other guy got away and they ditched their equipment so there's no solid proof they were trying to break in and rob us which means that they'll probably be released already. Oh, and now we hear we're the third house in the street to get burglars calling at noon this year. (But the first one where one was caught. Hah!) Meanwhile we got to spend hours catching our breath, file police reports and go to work late. Not to mention having a broken gate. Joy. And to think my parents were still at home later then they should have been. Five minutes later and they would have left, while I was still upstairs and those bastards could have done some real damage to the backdoor or the windows trying to get in the house. Dude, if this is what February and March had to offer, I feel I'm going to loath what April's gonna be like.
