You're welcome. Also, I couldn't help but notice that the cow pasture looks so similar to the cow pastures here. Something about those cows...
GW: I notice a sign for a concert in the church building pic. Could you translate that for me?

Do you get to (or want to) keep em?

Ah, I see. But wow, what awesome cats.
And at first that skink had me thinking of a dragon of some sorts. That is quite the awesome picture of him!

Froggie! *squees*
Man, that window is spotless. Out of sheer coincedence I was in the zoo too this weekend and went to see the new frogs. Unfortunately the reptilian and amphibian house was crowded and none of the frogs was as accomodating to stick on the window. Still, it was nice playing spot the frog.

hehe, we played that too, believe it or not, with this frog.. *shakes head* it's funny how things can be so close that they're invisible.. XD we looked and looked, and when i took a step back i saw it stuck to the glass.
what kind of new frogs have they gotten their hands on?

Yeah, these green tree frogs are the devil. Their camouflage works really well. You keep hanging in front of window, peering in, saying:
"Where is it? do you see it? I don't see it. Is that that little green blob at the back something? What green blob? The entire terrarium is green! No, that little green blob next to the smaller green bit with the red bits. I think that's a bromeliad. Oh, I give up I don't see it. Hey, do you see that frog on that leaf, like, in the middle of the terrarium right in front of the window? Oh." Heheh. Been there. The zoo received custody over a load of poison dart frogs one or two years back. The frogs were taken from smugglers but as the location from where they came couldn't be verified, they couldn't be transported back and released into the wild. So they were given to the zoo who entered them in breeding programmes and remodelled the reptilian and amphibian house to display them. The zoo didn't have a frog collection before, so now they've got about 8 species, mostly from Panama I think. So they've been there for a while, but I haven't had time to go and see until now.

cool! so those might actually be poisonous.. i heard that poison dart frogs reared in captivity don't become poisonous - i guess they get the poison from their food, then? i have no idea, i know far too little about froggies..

Yes, I believe that is right. They get the poison from certain insects on which they feed. So if you feed them something else, they don't become poisonous. But wild-caught frogs can hang on to their poison for quite a while. So poison dart frogs bred and raised (on the non-toxic food) in captivity are harmless, but you'd have to be a bit more cautious with wild-caught frogs.
