Yay!!! We did too - we just took our 5-year-old Mac in for a tune-up and ended up upgrading it a bit - more memory, a backup drive and upgraded OS - we had to upgrade our printer drivers and it wasn't working like the directions said, so we fiddled around a bit and finally got it printing. It's so hard to find a time to have a computer down when you have 2 kids using it all the time for school! My daughter uses it more, so I took it in during her spring break. Anyway, I love it - it's so much faster, and we got a wireless smart mouse that's fantastic! And now we have automatic back-ups on our 1 terabyte drive, too
I had my needle biopsy today (of the 5 nodules in my thyroid, the 2 on the right came back as "suspicious for cancer") and it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. The staff is quite nice at that office. I'll hear the results a week from Thursday - please pray that it will be benign!!!

*drum roll* - results :
Of the 2 nodules that were found to be "suspicious for cancer", the dr. was only able to get enough tissue from one during the needle biopsy, but the results came back benign! yay! I'll have to have another needle biopsy next Friday to get to the other nodule (oh joy ) and then hopefully will have conclusive (and good!) results the following Friday. Thanks to everyone who has supported and encouraged me!

Woohoo! Great news. One down, one more to go. Not so fun to do another biopsy, I imagine, but here's hoping it too is benign.

That's frustrating to hear that you have to keep waiting, but I think the first one being benign is probably a sign of more good news to come. I'm so relieved for you.
Hang in there, Rian!!!!!!!!!!! *enormous Moot hugs* Here's to hoping they'll be able to start helping with your overall pain and symptoms just as soon as this test comes back! |

Woohooo!!! I'm down to 176lb! Started at around 184 or 185. This is the least I've weighed in some time.
The down side is it's becoming apparent that I'll need go below 175, which was my original goal. I figured if I lost about 10lb I'd be back in my size 32" jeans, but alas no. When I hit the point that I'm back in my old pants (.... I hate pants shopping, hence a major reason to drop the weight) I'll take a look at my long term fitness goals, but right now I'm just trying to get back to where I was. |

Meh, just this weekend I had to put two of my favourite pairs of jeans away for charity. One had the most awesome embroidered dragon across the legs. Bloody hips, think they're the universe, always expanding. Mope. Losing weight is not really an option for me.

Awwww, sorry to hear about the jeans. Why can't you lose weight, if I may be so bold as to dare inquire of a woman?

I'm a lightweight. My natural weight has been close to being underweight for most of my adult life. I'm also just above the medical minimum weight (55kg) for donating blood (something I have been wanting to do for years but never seem to make it to the the blood-drives in time.)

Shouldn't you be glad you're gaining some weight, then? Sounds like it's a good thing if you've been that under weight!

Careful there... I'm not that underweight, just bordering it, according to those BMI calculations. I don't mind gaining a little weight, but I would have loved to keep those two pair of favourite pants. But hey, you only get to fit in clothes you bought in high school for so long. Maybe I should just be glad that they lasted as long as they did.
