Here's that other riddle I promised y'all:

Middle Earth Tavern Riddle
whenever you’re thirsty take this as a lock,
that we have the best beer that is kept in stock.

Also, here is a reposting of an unsolved riddle now on its third page!

Middle Earth Geometry Riddle

Out of the whole divide me by seven.
From the seven, choose six and divide each by two.
The one remainder from the original seven represents the largest value.
The other six have ever decreasing values.

What in Middle Earth can I be?

note: The solution to the riddle is not a mathematical number. You must think abstractly to derive the answer.

Im thinkin' along the lines of familys here, so correct me if Im wrong, but.....Is it the several little realms of arnor, the ones that got into a civil war, with the larger one (maybe not larger physically) being the line that led to Aragorn?

dang dude, youre good.

the tavern that sam wanted to go to but they didnt want to take the roads, what was it called....the Golden...something (keep thinking of the Golden Unicorn in upstate New York...biggest pancakes I've ever seen...)

Now that is some good abstract thinking Beor. It is along the wrong path though. The divisions are not along family lines.
In reply to Radagasts plea for a clue I will say that the geometry part of this riddle can roughly be related to concentric circles.

oh yeah, my bad. I'm going to have to give it to you because you have identified the tavern well enough. The name of it is the Golden Perch, home of the "best beer in the Eastfarthing". It is located in the village of Stock. Dang, I was hoping for some wrong guesses on this one. At least somebody could have guessed the Green Dragon or the Prancing Pony. Nice job Beor, you denied me my fun and guessed my riddle immediately! It is difficult to stump you as I am finding out.

A new riddle:

Misty Mountain Breakdown
Misfortunes winds have blown my way.
My folk and my herds - they had no say.
They were murdered and fired or scattered away.
I’ve been wounded by orcs, my kin were their prey.
I’m going up high to escape from the fray.
I won’t come back down, it’s my intention to stay.

The Great Eagles? Just not sure if they had "herds" - or if it was poetic license if they didn't?

Negative. Also, the answer is not plural but rather is a single character.

Dadgummit! I forgot about you Earniel! You are the resident Ent expert I guess since you were correct on the Ent riddle I posted a few weeks ago. (Which had the same answer by the way.)
Skinbark/Fladrif it is!

Ninnyhammers! Noodles! brownjenkins walks into the thread and promptly solves the geometry riddle. Dagnabbit! I was hoping it would go for four (pages that is).
Yes, Minas Tirith is the answer.
The whole = the entire city
The six = levels 2 thru 7 which are divided by a "vast pier of rock"
The largest value = the first level which is undivided.

Outstanding! I am impressed with you already brownjenkins. Please come back to the thread and play some more!
I will have another riddle ready soon.

Really, I figured that I had given it to y'all with that clue but by then I guess the riddle had twisted y'all's minds so much that you moved even further away from the solution.

Well, I wouldn't have guessed it unless I had gotten a good score of hints. Probably because no Ent was involved. Great job brownjenkins.

Here is my next submission:

Live and Learn in Middle Earth
Fangs of the darkness will turn on and bite you.
In sleeping lies weakness, you’ll leave them to fight you.
